Negotiating with Myself During a Long Treadmill Run
If you’re seeing this post on Monday it means my hosting company got their life together and allowed me to actually upload pictures and things!
I had such a nice, relaxing Saturday. I met my mom for breakfast and then went over to see the new condo she just bought. It’s very cute and will look amazing once she has all of her new things in it!
Then I went shopping for some craft supplies and groceries too (if we’re friends on Snapchat – @KristinaRunning – then you’ve already seen this!):
Basically, I needed to buy some St. Paddy’s Day supplies because Adam and I are going to a WWE NXT show on Thurs. and my favorite wrestler, Finn Bálor, is Irish! It’s sort of a long story to tell, but Finn used to call himself “The Real Rock N Rolla” so I made a poster that says Shamrock N Rolla with some shamrocks attached!

I also bought groceries to make these no bake brownies (and added chocolate chips). If you watch my snapchat video from above you’ll see the process, which is super simple. I basically just put all of my ingredients in our Ninja Pro blender and that was that.
How do they taste? Well… very healthy. Adam asked, “did you forget to add sugar?” ? The recipe didn’t call for adding chocolate chips on top, but I’m super glad I did because they would be almost inedible without them.
I think part of the issue is that it calls for using applesauce and maybe I shouldn’t have gotten the unsweetened kind. Or maybe I should have added honey. I might try the recipe again with a few other modifications and see how it goes because I do like the consistency of no bake desserts.
Anyway, on Sunday I woke up late and went to the gym to get my 8-miler in. The spring break crowds have descended upon Fort Lauderdale and Miami, so for the next few weeks I’m only going to be able to go running at the beach on the weekends if I get up super early so I can avoid the crowds.
I haven’t completed a long run on the treadmill in a while, so it took me a bit to get into a good grove. By “a bit” I mean about five miles! I think you really need to be in a certain frame of mind to do a long run on the treadmill and since I haven’t done it in a while, I just wasn’t there mentally at first.
I had to negotiate with myself a lot to get in the full eight miles. First I said “you only have to do 5” then it was 6, then 7 then 7.5 and finally it just made sense to do the full 8, haha.
In cat news, I ordered some notebooks a little while ago and they finally arrived! Tell me they aren’t the cutest notebooks ever! I love that the face and tail are in different spots on different notebooks.
Also, on Wednesday it took me THREE HOURS to get to work due to a severe motorcycle accident. While I was sitting on the interstate with my car in park I did some online shopping :). Instagram showed me an ad for these watches and I think I placed my order within 30 seconds!
I got the white one for myself and the leopard one for my mom :). I don’t know why they’re wearing glasses but it’s really cute!
