HAPPY FRIDAY! Yesterday I woke up at 6:30-ish and went downstairs to lay around on the couch until the sun rose. Cecil hadn’t been feeling well the night before and he was downstairs so I wanted to sit with him for a while.
The sun finally rose around 7am and I made myself a cup of coffee in my favorite mug (for sale in my little online shop here – makes a great holiday gift for any cat lovers you know).
A little later I finally decided to break out the smoothie ingredients and make a smoothie for breakfast. I didn’t include the sugar free coconut syrup because I still don’t know how much to use, but the smoothie was amazing anyway!
I included almond milk, a little OJ, mango, pineapple, peaches and 1/2 a banana. I think I’m going to try and start incorporating some spinach. I don’t generally like green smoothies but I want to train myself to like them.
I then cracked on with a bunch of work with my little assistant. C didn’t help much, he mostly slept but that’s okay because he was still feeling sick. He wasn’t eating (even treats) and he was super low energy (even for a 10 year old cat).
Adam was working from home yesterday too, so he took me out to lunch around 1pm. I wanted Chipotle but he wanted Chick-Fil-A and he won since he drove :). We generally say whoever drives can pick the place.
After we got home we tried to feed Cecil again but he was still uninterested in his food. He did eat two little treats but he took a long time to eat them. I could definitely tell his stomach was feeling sensitive.
During the day we got a delivery: a little rack to hold my dumbbells. It’s small but gets the job done since I only have 10, 15 and 25lbs. I really want to buy 20lb-ers soon.
Around 5pm I was feeling really stressed by Cecil’s total disinterest in food which is normally his favorite thing ever, so I called the vet. She said to either cook him a plain chicken breast or go to the store and buy him a rotisserie chicken and remove the skin.
The vet said to hand feed him the chicken to entice him to eat and that should make him feel better if he had just experienced a stomach ache the night before.
I didn’t have any chicken breast on hand so we walked to the grocery store to get him a rotisserie chicken.
We gave him some pieces of it and he ate… and then ate some more and started to really perk back up :). My heart felt so relieved to see him start to bounce back.
Towards the end of the day my new spin bike finally got delivered. Adam and I had to carry it up the stairs which was a mission. We eventually got it up and Adam had it setup within 30 minutes!
I’m honestly really happy with the bike. It feels sturdy, has adjustable knobs for everything and is compact enough that it works well in our small home gym.
I’ll have a full review as soon as I’ve had a chance to try it out properly tomorrow evening :). I’m looking forward to it!
After we got the spin bike together it was about 7:30pm. I made tacos for dinner and then we all settled in to watch football and relax.
I hope you are as excited for the weekend as I am. We don’t have anything particularly special planned but who doesn’t love a good Saturday sleep-in? Maybe I’ll try to get some Christmas shopping done this weekend too!
