On Saturday I texted Richard, my awesome hair stylist, to book an appointment. He was able to fit me in at 5:15pm yesterday, so when 4 o’clock hit I zoomed out of the office.
Moral of the story? If you want to force yourself to leave work on time book a hair appointment :D.
Up until I arrived I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to have done. I was thinking about going ombre again, but had a last minute change of heart. I decided to get rid of the blonde and go warm.
I found this pic online and said, “Richard, is this possible for me?”
He replied, “absolutely, let me whip up the recipe” and headed to the back shouting out formula numbers that he was mixing together.
Three hours later, and ZERO FOILS, later I came out looking like this:
Not having to sit for foils was amazing. Richard used a new technique that is basically a mask that is applied to your hair that hardens into a shell. I have no idea how it works but I loved that it reduced my time in the chair by about an hour!
It’s hard to tell under artificial lighting, but he did an amazing job and my hair came out exactly as expected. I’ll have to snap a pic today in natural lighting so you can see it better.
Now about those beachy waves in the example pic. I looooove loose curls but my hair will only hold them for about an hour even with sea salt spray on third day hair. Richard gave me an idea for how I can try and get them to last longer but it sounds way outside of my ability. It involves cutting strips of cloth, rolling my hair around the cloth and then knotting it and applying heat. Have you ever tried anything like this before? Was it hard/easy/crazy?
I’m game for giving it a go. Maybe I’ll set aside time while we’re on the cruise :).
Do you like going to have your hair done?
Are you able to get “beachy waves” in your hair?
