Can I distract you with a vlog today?

I don’t have a Weekly Training Recap since I didn’t run at all last week. I did manage to get in a good lifting workout yesterday; getting a strong dose of endorphins was just what the doctor ordered :).

If you’ve been following along with my weekly vlogs then you know Adam and I have been on the hunt for patio furniture that we both like for a few weeks now. Well, we FINALLY found something we can agree on and now my dream patio is halfway there!

Setting up the patio was really relaxing for me. I’ve never really been into decorating, but since we bought the townhouse last year I’ve gotten suuuuper into it!

I’m also super into watching Instagram Live while I’m getting ready. One of my favorite YouTubers, Amelia Liana, does live streams right around the time I’m getting ready on the weekends so it’s like chatting with a friend while we’re both getting ready. Except you know, she has no idea who I am :D.

To be honest I have no idea why I did my makeup on Saturday because I just went to Home Depot and then came home to work on the patio.

I moved some of the vegetable seedlings I’m growing into bigger pots. I realized at the beginning of this transport process that I didn’t have a shovel so I grabbed a spatula from the kitchen. Hey, you gotta work with what you’ve got!

I’m afraid that the wind storm last weekend may have killed off some of my previously thriving seedlings. My broccoli plant is still surviving though!

I mean, he looks more like grass than broccoli, but that’s okay. I’m just glad something green is growing!

While I was working on my veggies and Adam was putting together the furniture, we put out Cecil’s new playpen so he could be outside with us. I didn’t snap a pic while he was in it, but I think he really liked it! He spent about an hour outside with us before he started meowing to go in :).

Halfway through the afternoon the new dining table and chairs were ready for sitting! I’m honestly so happy with how the whole area is coming together. We set a specific budget for pulling together the patio area and so far we’ve been able to stick to it.

I thought finding a dining room set we liked would be the hardest part since prices can skyrocket into the thousands (or even tens of thousands), but we found this seven piece set for under $500 at Home Depot!

We bought some cute Edison lightbulbs to hang around the edge so that it the whole table would have nice lighting. That way we can play games, eat dinner, etc. all at night if we want.

We also bought a Citronella sort-of-candle thing for the table. We had been sitting outside for just a few minutes when we started getting bitten so that was a must. Now I want to buy my own Citronella plants to keep the bugs totally away from our whole patio!

We have a plant nursery near our house that I may go to this coming weekend:). I’m a little bit too excited by this but I LOVE PLANTS!

Is it the weekend yet?!

What kind of veggies are you growing in your garden this spring?
Anyone have Citronella plants? Are they easy to take care of?
Who wants to come over for a BBQ and game night?! πŸ™‚

Your patio has come along beautifully. I love all the lights. The ambiance is just gorgeous! I love outdoor spaces but I hate being outside in Florida. I just never can seem to enjoy it.

In other news, I have heard that Nars concealer is BOMB. Do you like it?

I saw your vlog last night and I have to say that your patio looks beautiful!

By the way, to me it doesn’t matter if I’m going to Home Depot or the grocery store on a Sunday. I will put on some make up either way. I just love it and love the process of getting ready. So I totally get you girl.

I love it…I would totally love to come over for a BBQ and game night. It’s fabulous. Growing veggies is so rewarding (I think). We plant tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, cucumber. I did lettuce one year but it was a pain in the ass to get clean (so much dirt). I am not sure if we will venture out to other veggies this year…time to start thinking about it!

Backyard looks great, you guys did an amazing job.

We will be right over for game night. Kids are welcome correct ?

Your outdoor space is LOVELY! Do you go out there every night now? Do you and Adam shit talk when you play games? The first time Paul and I played cards, he shit talked and I was like… what the what!? But now I give it right back to him. πŸ™‚ Sometimes I feel like I should put makeup on for piano lessons but hearing what you said made me realize, no, why should I feel like I *have* to put makeup on??? I laughed when I saw Cecil’s cat tree. I saw it before you even mentioned it and I thought, “Well, looks like Cecil carved out his own space in his favorite room in the house!” Paul and I get bit by mosquitoes sooooo bad. We have to cover ourselves in bug spray when we sit on the porch. He even gets but through his gym shorts!

Your patio looks so cozy!!! I love the lights as well. That’s so funny that Cecil has a play pen, too! I hope he enjoys the patio as much as you guys do πŸ™‚

Hey there! I started my garden this past weekend(bordered/garden soil/mulching old dirt), but its supposed to be cold so no seedling planting until this weekend. So excited to see what grows! Happy gardening!

Love your patio set up! Especially Cecil’s play pen. In the summer I let Mitten out on our balcony (supervised only, I’m terrified she’ll try to jump) or I’ll take her out on a leash which she tolerates only because she gets to explore.
