Oh, It Was Only 88 Degrees on My Run Tonight…

On the weightlifting front: yesterday I deadlifted 190lbs x 3 which is a new max – but man did those ten additional pounds feel heavy!

However, I remember when I thought 100lbs was heavy, so … PROGRESS! 🙂

Success doesn't happen overnight. keep your eye on the prize and don't look back.

On the running front: tonight I went out for a 30 minute run and it was HOT. I didn’t head out the door until after 7pm hoping it would cool down a little bit, but when I left it was still 88 degrees!

I wish it was hotter out said no runner ever

Even though it was boiling out, my run seem to fly by. I had a lot to think about though…

A few weeks ago I wrote about the unexpected passing of my step-father and just today the mother of my childhood best friend passed away.

My friend’s mom had a heart attack a few days ago and just never recovered. This is very similar to what happened with my step-father, although he had already been in the hospital due to an unrelated surgery.

This has been a bad 30 days … I am really looking forward to a new start in June. Adam and I will be kicking off the month with a week long cruise, and I very much hope the rest of the month is smooth sailing as well.

I don’t know any runner who likes hot weather…I like how those summer rains cool the evening down just a touch.

I hope June has better things in store for you than May did!

Thanks, Ali! Running through the summer rain is nice, the humidity it brings down here is ridiculous though. The runner side of me is already looking forward to November when it will cool down … the beach lover in me is happy it’s June 🙂

Gotta love summer running in Florida. Not! 🙁

I know … it’s sad, but I think I’m admitting defeat. My long runs are going to be done on the treadmill until the weather cools down a bit :/
