OMG What Did I Do?!!

With Cecil and Adam looking on, I went for a new squat max last night and I EARNED IT!

My goal was to do 160lbs x 6 reps since I did 160lbs x 4 reps last time. Well I got in the 6 reps and was feeling good, so Adam suggested I try 170lbs x 2 reps just to see if I could. I felt good after that too so he said, “do you think you could do 185lbs?” I said I don’t know but I can try!

BAM. Documented in video and everything.

Okay, so my form definitely was wonky at 185lbs, especially on the second rep. Adam said it’s because my bar was set too high, and also my core strength probably can’t keep up with my legs. That’s no big surprise since I hardly ever work on my core except for a plank here and there.

Those are both things I can correct so that next time my form will be better, and then I can move on to 190lbs and even 200lbs! OMG, can you imagine? That would be crazy!

My legs are going to be so strong when I start running again, which I hope will be any minute now. I’m honestly so over talking about this, but I still have my stitches in. I believe they will come out on January 17th now.

I messed up by doing all that walking in Vegas, especially that 12 mile day. When I changed my bandages that night I knew I messed up because I could see that my freshly healed incision was not looking as healed anymore. I’m mad at myself but at the same time I had such a fun day that day that I can’t say I regret what I did.

I’m going to be back to running before the end of the month.

I’m having so much fun making workout videos and I can’t wait to make running videos too! 2018 is going to be a good fitness year, I can feel it!!!

I’m We’re going to make big goals and crush them. Tell me what your big goal is in the comments so I can support you and cheer you on.

I’m going to squat 225lbs and run a half marathon for the first time since February 2016! (I can’t believe it’s been that long, omg.)

What’s one big fitness goal you’re setting for yourself this year? Make it BIG we have all year to work towards it!

Congrats on the squats! I hope your legs are doing better. Its only January 4th so you still have plenty of time to get back to running this month!

      Thank you!!!! 😀

When I was watching the full video back Adam pointed out that before I go for a heavy lift I seem to start talking to myself. He asked what I say… and the truth is I tell myself “it’s not big deal, this is easy” LOL! I’m pretty sure before races I used to tell myself basically the same thing, “it’s not a big deal it’ll be over soon” even for half marathons that take me three hours LOL! Nothing like tricking the body into doing what you want it to do!

Your legs are going to be smoking!! Good grief that is awesome 🙂
I lost so much strength this past year I feel like I am starting over …but I am old. lol
I am sorry you are taking so long to heal, I was that way with one of my tummy incisions but I was hoping that wouldn’t happen to you. It is frustrating.
Just a thought…if you decide to run a local race later in the year let me know! You know I have to Galloway and that seems to be much more popular in FL! I would like to try to be there when you do it.
