Hello from Las Vegas!
By the time you’re reading this I will be on a plane back to Fort Lauderdale after a fun-filled 4-day getaway.
Adam and I popped over to Vegas on Friday morning and have been having a blast! I have so many things to tell you about this weekend, but most of that will have to wait for tomorrow.
The only negative to this Vegas trip? I never ran the strip.
It was on my big list of things to do, but after a couple of late nights combined with not wearing sensible shoes and it just didn’t happen.
We were promised a spectacular 4th of July fireworks show but that also didn’t happen because … there was a huge thunderstorm! Can you believe that? It rained in Vegas!
Oh well, what can ya do?
I hope you had a great long weekend!
Did you shoot off fireworks or go to a fireworks show?
Have you ever run the strip in Vegas?
A thunderstorm in Vegas just in time to ruin the Fourth of July fireworks?! Just your luck! I bet the show would have been great, but what can you do? Please fill us in with the details of your trip! Vegas is a crazy, crazy place.

It really is! What I like about Vegas though is that you can really make it what you want it to be.
There’s something for the young 20-somethings that want to party, and also something for us older folks (haha) who enjoy a nice glass of wine, a good show and a fairly reasonably priced resort!
I hope you still had a good time, despite the rain. I LOVE Vegas. I have been a few times, but I would love to go back soon.

It’s such a fun place! We had not been in about three years and I noticed they cleaned it up a bit.
There were noticeably less advertisements for … adult activities!
I’ve walked the strip but I’ve never run it. Sorry about the rained out fireworks – I bet Vegas does a spectacular show!!!

I bet they do too! I thought they might reschedule the fireworks for the next night, but unfortunately they did not. Kind of a bummer!
I didn’t realize it was this weekend! Woohoo! No one should wear sensible shoes in Vegas. 🙂 Can’t wait to hear more about it!

I thought my shoes were a bit bad, but I saw some poor ladies who were literally wobbling about. That’s just no fun!
I wasn’t a runner the last time I was in Vegas…I’d LOVE to run the strip, but I remember all the walking is exhausting and hard on the feet. I can’t wait to hear about your trip!

While we were walking about I noticed that you could actually put together a pretty tough run on the strip if you wanted to. There are so many areas where you could include big staircases… not that I would ever want to do that! hah!
Never ran the strip, but I’ve been to Vegas — it’s a total blast! I hear you on the lack of sensible shoes, though, haha — ever since I started running, I feel like all I wear are boring flats!

Boring flats are the way to go! I ended up with two annoying blisters on my feet. I kind of feel like my trusty running shoes wouldn’t have betrayed me like that!
I’ve never ran the strip, but I’m sure it would be fun! I’ve always been intrigued by the rock n roll vegas races!
I just watched fireworks on tv:)

Yes! Walking around the strip made me want to sign up for a rock n roll vegas race. I bet it’s a blast!
Ah running the strip would be awesome! I’m sorry you didn’t get to do that or see fireworks. That just means you’ll have to go back! 🙂
It’s been several years since in have been in Vegas, but our last trip hubby and I were in the Paris tower and nasty wind and lightening happened and it poured. Rain always feels odd there lol I didn’t run the strip in Vegas but I did walk it a few times from the mall to the New York spot. It was long! Did you see any good shows?? Post about it 🙂 Last time we went we saw Jay Leno, I love him 🙂
A thunderstorm in Vegas?! Huhh? Too bad there wasn’t a Plan B light show. I saw the DC fireworks from a roofdeck – it was beautiful b/c we also saw fireworks from the neighborhood pyros and nearby cities 🙂

That’s awesome!! I’m was disappointed that we didn’t get to see a fireworks show this year, but we did catch some on TV when we got back to the room. Not the same though!
I can’t believe it rained in Vegas in JULY! That is unheard of. Looks like you still had a fantastic time. I have done an early morning run on the strip when I was there for a psychology conference and wasn’t staying out until 4am. It was quite nice to run during the most mellow part of the day on the strip.

It ended up raining 3 out of the 4 days we were there! The rain drops were surprisingly REALLY cold too!
