Ramblings: Friday Edition

Happy FRIDAY! This post is coming a little later than usual since I was up way past midnight overdosing on sports. For those of you who don’t follow the HEAT, here’s you’re daily update: they are still undefeated in the playoffs this year!

Adam and I spent a good portion of the night flipping between the game and the draft. Welcome to the Dolphins, Ja’Wuan James, we need all the help you can give us!

I love seeing the guys get emotional when they are drafted. It usually makes me shed a tear too because I’m so excited for them to get to live their dream!

My dream for this weekend is to get in a good 12-miler on Saturday and finish with a respectable time at the 5K on Sunday. I was thinking about just using the 5K as part of my 12-miler, but our schedule is kind of wonky this weekend with both a birthday to celebrate this Saturday and a brunch to attend for Mother’s Day on Sunday.

I doubt it will be a PR day on tired legs, but I haven’t stepped across a starting line since February, so it will be nice to just get out there and run with lots of other people. Plus, I’ve been running faster in general for the last few weeks so I may surprise myself.

On an off topic note, I am 100% obsessed with this notebook I got from Target for less than $5!

unnamedWhen I was growing up I used to have a collection of beautiful notebooks that I was too afraid to write in. They were just so perfect, and I was worried my handwriting wasn’t good enough, or that I wouldn’t have the right things to say in them.

I thought I had broken that habit, but when I bought this notebook I didn’t write in it for almost a full week! I finally decided to bring it to work and use it for note taking. At work I’m too busy to care if I’m using my “good” handwriting or not! : )

Alright, enough of my ramblings on a beautiful Friday!

I hope you all have a great weekend planned, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there including cat moms, dog moms and bird moms!

Good luck with your 5k Sunday! 🙂 I love getting new notebooks and pens and pencils when the school year starts. Then I’m like… ugh this means I have to go back to work. 🙂

Haha! I loved buying new school supplies each year — I’m jealous that you picked a profession that allows you to continue on with the fun tradition!

  2. karen

That’s a high mileage weekend! Have fun at the 5K 🙂 I use to tear up my papers as a kid as soon as I though one word looked out of place and start over. I drove my teachers crazy…

Same here! Teacher’s were always telling me that I didn’t need to start over, that a single line through a word to cross it out was acceptable, but I just couldn’t do it. We are probably a little bit crazy 🙂

There is something special about new supplies. I have a new pair of running shorts I purchased 2 weeks ago and I haven’t worn them because I don’t want to get them sweaty…

Happy running this weekend! Happy Mother’s Day–

HAHA, I love that! Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

  4. Kim

I’ve always loved “school supplies” at the store – even when I’m not in school or teaching!
    Have fun at your 5K!!!

I used to collect notebooks and never write in them, too! I LOVE collecting notebooks. Nothing is more tempting to me than blank pages :o)
