Running, House Hunting, New Trends!

Hey there! I had such a great weekend and have so much to tell you about!

1. Running:

Both of my runs this weekend went super well! I ran out of clean running clothes on Sunday though and had to wear my racing singlet :).

I haven’t worn this in such a long time and it felt good to put it on again.

During the summer months I sometimes forget that races even exist! I need to pick a September race so that I can knock the racing cobwebs off before Chicago. I’d love to run the Chicago Half but the timing isn’t great for me… we’ll see!

Long runs are starting to feel really natural. During the first few weeks of the training plan they felt sort of forced, but now I feel like a distance runner again :).

Oh this run is going to take me 2.5 hours? Okay, no big deal. #ShitMarathonersSay (More tomorrow in my training recap!)

2. Work Life:

Friday afternoon my team from work and I finally went to South Beach Room Escape!

We were supposed to go a few weeks ago but had to reschedule. It was well worth the wait – so much fun!

Our scenario was that we were visiting our Aunt at an insane asylum and got locked in a room. We had 60 minutes to figure out the riddles and puzzles to escape or the doctors would perform experiments on us.

It took us a few minutes but we eventually got into a groove and were THISCLOSE to making it out of the room. With about six minutes to go we were down to the final riddle and thought we had it in the bag – but we got stuck. We were in the hardest escape room – it only has a 20% success rate – so the fact that we made it right to the end felt like an accomplishment! 🙂

3. House Hunting:

Saturday Adam and I were condo hunting. We didn’t find the one but we did get really close. We know which condo building we want to be in, and there are a few units that we really, really like.

I took a few pics but I feel weird about showing you the inside of a place that we don’t own. However, I can show you the views from the condos! Adam likes the units that have a river view like this (taken from one of the balconies):

The river view is absolutely gorgeous. I love it too, but you know I’m obsessed with the beach so I’m a big fan of the ocean view units.

Okay, so it’s not like you can see the ocean right outside your balcony like you can with the river, but you can see it off in the distance and that is EVERYTHING to me. I looooooove it. Now we have to determine who gets the view they want :). Really, there probably isn’t a loser in this situation since both are pretty great!

For what it’s worth Cecil says he likes the ocean view :).

4. Pokemon:

We did a lot of Pokemon hunting at the beach this weekend!

Adam’s favorite Pokemon is the Krabby:

And of course my favorite is the Meowth :). I re-named him Peanut since that is one of my (many) nicknames for Cecil!

5. Shopping:

On Saturday I went shopping with my mom. I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect peach nail polish, one that is not too pink and not too orange. I tried a couple on in the store and later realized I was walking around like this:

It’s a new trend :).

But seriously, if you know of the perfect peach nail polish please let me know!!!

That was my big weekend, I hope you had a great weekend too!

Current favorite nail polish color?
Have you been to an escape room?
Best thing about your weekend?

A few weeks ago I ran out of clean running clothes and ended up buying new shorts and sports bra to make it to a group run on time (and not stinky!). The laundry struggle is real in my house.

Good luck with your peach nail polish hunt!

Hahahahah okay I’m glad you shared that story because I totally bought a new outfit on Friday that I could wear on Saturday because I didn’t feel like doing laundry on a Fri night 🙂

I have never been to an escape room before. I think I would be awful at something like that 🙂 I’m not good at solving puzzles and riddles 🙂 My favorite peach/pink polish is Essie Peach Daiquiri. It looks more pink in the bottle but I think it dries kind of peach-ish. I also like that it is nice and bright for the summer. I’m actually getting ready to paint my nails in the color right now!

Thank you for the tip on Peach Daiquiri! One of the colors I am wearing in the pic is a Essie color but it’s too orangey in real life (in the pic it sort of looks okay). It wasn’t PD though, I’ll definitely hunt that one down!

BTW, did you notice that some Essie polishes are $22 now?!!?!? o_O

I was going to say I think Cecil should be the tie breaker for the view! Glad you found the building you want! I am sure that helps narrow things down. I really can’t wait until you pick a place and we can see pictures!! 🙂

ME TOO. I have a decor board on Pinterest already and my mom is on the hunt for things that fit my theme – which is rose gold/copper, grey and white :). My mom is such an awesome decorator so I know she’ll do an amazing job!

Wow both pictures from the condos look amazing! The only view you would get in our area would be corn fields. 🙂 This weekend we went camping north of Chicago with some friends. Lots of fun except it rained a ton, boo!

I can’t wait to hear about Chicago! You know, I honestly never even think of Chicago as a place you CAN go camping. I just think of the big city with skyscrapers and the bean!
