Hey there! Is it Monday again already? Let’s roll with some updates!
1. Running Update
I haven’t given a proper Miami training update in a while mostly because everything is going along as planned. My calves are still tight but they aren’t holding me back from logging my miles!
In fact, on Saturday the first time I had a free minute to go running was after 10pm, and you know what? I took advantage of that!
I would be lying if I said it was easy to get myself down to the gym, but it was worth it as usual.
I’ve been through a whole gambit of extreme emotions over the last week and running really helps me work through my own thoughts and feelings without interruption. While it’s been helpful during this election cycle, running provides me with this same kind of relief when I’m working through my feelings about … anything.
It’s also a way that I can plan, dream and strategize without interruption. I’ve started approximately 1,000 new businesses while running just because it’s the perfect time to focus on something new and exciting without distractions.
I also “write” the draft of almost every blog post while I’m running! I always think about what happened during the day and what I want to share with you asap!
2. Lifting Update
While running helps me to work through my emotions in what I consider to be a healthy way, lifting helps me to work through my frustrations in a muuuuch different way.
There’s nothing like anger to push you to the next level on a lift! Is that unhealthy? Maybe!
In addition to a solid full body lifting session this weekend, I also knocked out a 3 minute 15 second plank on Sunday night. I haven’t held a plank for more than 2 minutes in a long time, but Sunday I just knew I would cross the 3 minute mark.
This picture was obviously taken in the first few seconds before my body started shaking and my face screwed up into the “please help, i need this to be done, why is time moving so slowly” look :).
I see you shaking your head in agreement, I know you know what I’m talking about!
3. House Update
Oh, where do I begin? Painting is my second job. I don’t like it and it feels like it’s taking FOREVER. I just keep reminding myself painting a house is a marathon not a sprint. At the end I will feel overwhelmingly accomplished and happy to have finished!
In addition to more painting Adam and his dad installed recessed lighting in the master bedroom which I am in LOVE with! The room lights up like the actual sun is glowing inside of it now!
I’ll have to take a pic when it’s dark out so you can see. Or maybe you don’t care what the lighting is like in my bedroom, haha! I’ll probably show you anyways because I am very excited about it!
I feel like I say this every week, but the house is really coming along. I promise at some point I’m going to tell you that we’re moving in :).
