Running Like the Wind

Oh man, I had a day yesterday! It took me almost two hours to get home from work all because of “on-looker delays.” If you aren’t familiar, that’s when an accident occurs and even though the damaged vehicles are moved out of the traffic lanes, every one slows down to 2mph because they want to look at the people standing on the side of the road.

Nothing frustrates me like on-looker delays do! UGH, UGH, UGH. By the time I got home to Fort Lauderdale it was after 8pm. I was hungry, angry and seriously thinking about just driving home, but I knew going for a run would make me feel better – just like it always does! 🙂

I had four miles on the schedule but only ended up doing two since it was already so late and I was in need of dinner. The wind was whipping around at about 25mph with gusts up to 31mph.

When I started my run I wondered why the heck I was putting myself through this, but of course five minutes later I settled into the run and felt a million times better. I love running, there’s nothing like it in the whole world!

Every year Fort Lauderdale Beach puts together a holiday display – and this year’s display is definitely the cutest one yet! You should definitely come visit and take a picture with the sandy snowman! I would be happy to show you around :).

After snapping the snowman pic I ran into the wind for a mile which was a struggle at 13:52/mi. Luckily I had the wind at my back for the second mile and easily knocked out a 12:38 minute mile. Now if only I could have 30mph winds at my back for the duration of my next race 🙂 .

By the time I stretched and took a few minutes to watch the waves crash against the shore my stomach was really rumbling. I made it hope just before 9pm – phew, what a long day! I’m so grateful to have Thursday and Friday off this week for Thanksgiving!

If we’re friends on Instagram (@kristinarunning) then you already know Cecil has been in super cuddle mode lately! I think it’s because it’s “cold” out (aka in the low 70s) and he is trying to steal my warmth!

Whatever the reason, I don’t mind it!

If today is your last work day of the week I hope you have a great one! I’m counting down the hours until the end of the day :).

Talk to ya tomorrow!

Are you traveling for Thanksgiving or hosting?
All prepped and ready or running around last minute like me? haha
