Running Stuff I Buy on Amazon (to Save Money)

I don’t know about you, but I love being able to buy things through Amazon Prime. The convenience of same day or at worst two day delivery makes life so much easier. Plus, many times you can find things cheaper through Amazon – even running things!

Here are a few things I buy through Amazon to save money (and for the convenience)…

Body Glide

I apply Body Glide before every long run which means I can go through a package pretty quickly.

The 1.5oz container is $9.99 on Amazon, which is the same price it is at my local sporting good store. However, if I walk into my local sports store I’m probably going to walk out with a bag full of things I don’t need along with the Body Glide. Amazon keeps my spending in check here! haha

Running Skirts

Recently I was looking to try a new running skirt brand and heard good things about Sport Skirts from people I trust like Ali. I found a code to get free shipping through the Sports Skirt website but estimated arrival was 5-7 days. I found the same skirt through Sport Skirts Amazon shop where I could get free 2-day shipping (with my Prime membership). SCORE!

The only caveat is that the Amazon shop doesn’t have all of the Sport Skirts styles offered on the main site and sizes seem to be limited.

Currently Amazon carries the Jette Skirt, Gym Girl Ultra, Transition Skirt, Adventure Girl skirt, Redemption Fitness Shorts and a few other options.

I bought the Transition Skirt which I think is the same thing as the Race Magnet Skirt – just an older name.

I got the Transition Skirt for only $22 plus free shipping and the Race Magnet Skirt skirt is listed at $58 on their main site (currently on sale for $39). That made me very happy!

I won’t run with any other type of earbuds besides Yurbuds because they simply do not budge no matter how much I bounce around or sweat. They come in two different sizes and the small size fits my ears perfectly.

Unfortunately Cecil loves Yurbuds as much as I do and every time I leave my earbuds out on the counter he chews through the cords.

On Amazon I can get a replacement set in just 2 days and I can usually find an “odd color” on sale. I like the Inspire 300s and got my current pair in the color Mossy Oak for just $20 when basic colors like black, red and pink go for $35-$40 in the store. Mossy Oak isn’t bad looking either, it’s just a bright green!

I should probably just invest in bluetooth earbuds but I like holding the cord when I run. I guess it’s just a weird thing I’ve grown accustom to and would feel weird not doing!

Training Journal

There’s just something about putting pen to paper that makes my training feel official. I’m on my second Believe training journal and really love it! You have space to track your daily mileage along with pages filled with professional running advice and places to write down your goals and aspirations.

I also use a spreadsheet where I keep track of my monthly mileage (I’m aiming for at least 1,000 miles in 2016) and I have my Garmin Connect synced with Training Peaks as well.

You might say I like data a lot. It probably has something to do with having to be obsessed with the intersection of creative + data at work all day long!

Under Armour Visor

If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you know I wear a white Under Armour visor on every single run. I love that it keeps the sun (and sweat) out of my eyes. Plus it’s super light weight which means I hardly even feel like I have anything on my head.

Since Florida is HOT HOT HOT almost all year long I have to wash my visor(s) frequently so I have a couple I keep in rotation.

I hand wash my visors in the sink using soap from Bath & Body Works so that when I’m running I can breathe in the pretty smell – during the summer the trash cans at the beach smell BAD and this helps!

I think the visor is the same price in-store as it is online, but sometimes my local store only has pink or black in stock and I need white.

(^ That’s an old picture from when I used to have purple Yurbuds before someone chewed through them.)

I order my Gu through Amazon so I can buy it in bulk. You can get assorted flavors or just one flavor – I always buy Chocolate Outrage :).

I think I’ve tried almost every single Gu flavor out there and chocolate is the only kind I can handle! At first I didn’t really like chocolate either but it’s grown on me and now I look forward to the energy burst I get after eating a packet.

What are some running related things you buy online/through Amazon?
– Or do you prefer going to your local running store/big sporting goods store?

Sometimes I see Yurbuds at TJMaxx. They are my favorite earphone as well 🙂

I have honey stinger waffles and Kodiak cakes on auto ship through amazon. I use both on long run days so having them shipped right to my door every couple of months is a great way for me to 1. save a little and 2. not have to worry about making it to the store before I run out!
I love my Believe journal also…and I have an excel spreadsheet that is color coded for certain types of workouts/paces etc. Love that pen to paper feel…its addicting!

I looooooooooove Amazon Prime! We do almost all of our Christmas shopping on Amazon and I just ordered a new bulk of puzzles. 🙂 I like to watch and see when ones I like get discounted. 🙂 I really can’t think of the last time I bought something running related on amazon! I really don’t buy a lot of running “stuff”. I have plenty of running clothes, my shoes I get from another site… OH my mp3 and earbuds Paul gets for me on amazon.

If you ever need to buy KT Tape definitely get it from Amazon. It retails for like $20, but I got mine for like $8 on Amazon. I went with the cheapest color I could find.

I’ll need to remember to check for cheap yurbuds the next time I need to replace mine. Thanks for the suggestion!

Those are all things I would definitely buy if I had Prime, but I don’t 🙁 It’s amazing how little Body Glide I go through in the winter months! I am in love with all flavors chocolate and salted caramel of GU. I wouldn’t have thought to look for a Sports Skirt on Amazon. What a great deal you got!! It’s super cute.

I wear a visor always too 🙂 I do the same thing, I wash it as soon as I come in, in pretty smelling soap and hang to drip dry 🙂
I buy socks on Amazon, but I don’t have prime. Too cheap I guess lol

YAY I hope your love your skirt! I haven’t tried that style – you’ll have to review it once you try it!

I love Yurbuds too. Now that I’ve tried blu tooth, though, I’ll never go back to wired. I do buy Gu and Glukos on Amazon, which is kind of bad because then I get sick of it because I have so much of the same flavor haha!

I subscribed to Amazon Prime when Axel was born and it has truly been a lifesaver. It’s definitely hard not to want to shop online all day. ☺ I need to look into those yurbuds… are they all the same or do they come in different styles? I definitely need something that will stay put in my ear and deliver a great sound quality. I like my bass! I never thought about buying GU online before…
