Since I Last Blogged…

Hey! It’s been a while since my last post, huh? I’ve been feeling pretty under the weather and have had 0% energy to do anything other than exist. (<–so dramatic, but true!)

Since I last blogged ….

I Got in a 15-Miler 

It felt good to be reunited with my running essentials after 6 DAYS OFF!

Yes that says 2:59pm. I went running in the afternoon because it was overcast and rainy aka less hot than usual.

I first attempted to run in the early-ish morning and that didn’t go well. In hindsight I should have realized that I always feel extra bad in the mornings when I have a cold. Later in the afternoon, with the appeal of an overcast sky, I decided it was time to run and ended up getting in some really good miles.

After taking six days off from running it’s probably no surprise that MY LEGS FELT GREAT. I didn’t feel any soreness or tiredness at all. That was a nice feeling and definitely gave me a boost of confidence.

I’m ready for that 20-miler next weekend!!!!

Cecil Decided He Likes the Top Shelf of the Cat Tree 

He stopped being a scaredy cat and started jumping up to the top. Now he spends hours up there bird watching and people watching!

Adam is thinking about adding on some extra shelves and things so it’s even more fun for the peanut!

FOOTBALL Came Back! 

I know Kristen must be SUPER HAPPY with how the first real game of the season went on Thursday for her Seahawks. I was less happy since I have Aaron as my fantasy football QB and he didn’t play his best game. Get it together, Aaron!!!

Thursday night’s game was fun, but tomorrow is the BIG DAY for me… the first Dolphins game of the season!

The Pats are coming to town and Cheryl and I will have to agree to disagree on who the better team is : ) I just hope Tom Brady is prepared to see a lot of Cam Wake!

Who is YOUR football team? I need to know! 

– I know Amy is a Steelers fan and Meg (by way of her hubby Paul) is a Bills fan. Any JETS fans out there?

How many miles was your long run this weekend??

Now I’m off to go catch up on all of the things I’ve missed in blogland the last couple of days! : )

    Oh my, it’s amazing how great your legs feel after a couple of rest days – proof that rest days are really important especially when you’re training! I’m running seven easy miles today as my longer run 🙂

    Welcome back! I am glad you are feeling better and had an awesome 15 miler. 🙂 I did miss reading your blog but I knew Cecil was taking care of you! When we got up today, Paul said, “Fantasy begins today!” He is so excited for real football and fantasy football. He’s going to watch it at his friend’s house which means I get to TEAR UP THE GYM today. Hopefully it will be empty because everyone will be watching football….

    I am in Pittsburgh right now to watch the game! Sadly, our flight back home leaves right after the game so we had to pass up tix to see the game but it is still great to be here! I love football. Sadly, I’m not sure this will be the year for the steelers. But they can always surprise me!

      The Steelers got you a win! This was the first time in a few years that Adam and I didn’t go to the first home game. It was a bummer not being there, but sitting in the air conditioning rather than 90 degree heat was kind of nice, haha.

    Glad you are feeling better! It was so gross out yesterday for my 12 miler. I did a training run with a local running club and we did a hilly course- it was so tough with the humidity! But Im glad I got it done.
    I grew up on Long Island and am originally a Jets fan. Now I live in Baltimore surrounded my Ravens fans (but have not become one!) Unfortunately I have kind of lost interest in football…and my husband is a Browns fan so we are kind of all over the place with who we cheer for.

      12 miles plus hills in the humidity is so hardcore! Go Lisa!

      I am really amused by the whole $$$ Manziel thing. It almost makes me want to root for the Browns. I find Johnny Football’s cocky attitude amusing … although I am glad I don’t have to hang around with him!

    Congratulations to your Dolphins for kicking the Brady’s butts!! Today has been a great day of football. I was very VERY happy with my Seahawks performance on Thursday. It’s going to be another good year. 🙂

    I’m glad to hear you are feeling better. Being sick is never fun, but at least it stumbled on you now and not a few weeks from now when you are off traveling the world and running marathons (and meeting me). I always find that after a few days of no activity whatsoever, my legs always feel fresh and running feels easy. This might be a good way to prepare for the marathon too!

    I should get a cat tree for Benny. They are so expensive and I wouldn’t want to fork over the money unless he would use it. Guess we’ll never know unless we try!

      Thank you!! Go Dolphins!! Brady looked completely exhausted by the end of the third quarter. I think the heat got to him. Plus, our running game was SICK! Such a nice change from last year when we could barely get one yard rushing.

      I think Benny would like the cat tree! I left the tag on Cecil’s tree for a couple days because I fully intended to return it if he didn’t use it since they are so expensive. I bought him a cat gym a couple of years ago and he refused to even touch it. That was a huge waste of money and taught me a lesson about leaving tags on and saving receipts when it comes to cat stuff, haha.

    Packer backer for life! That’s great that you have our precious A-Rodg on your fantasy team, I guess this means we’ll be on the same page for games this season (until we play each other!) 🙂

    My second team is the Steelers. My boyfriend is from Pittsburgh and is a huge fan of all things Pittsburgh sports. My mom, for reasons unknown, has been a lifelong Steelers fan as well. I don’t love them as much as the Pack but I always root for them.

    My interest in football has really waned in recent years, though. I like to watch it, and cheer for my teams, and I do love a good Sunday full of nothing but football….but beyond that I’m not really that into it. It’s entertainment 🙂

      I have a huge, gigantic crush on Aaron so the day the Packers come to town will be totally conflicting for me. Of course I’ll be rooting for the Dolphins to win, but if we HAD to lose a game this year I think that’s the one I would choose lol.

    6 days off is quite a break. Glad you are felling better. I do think it’s really good for the body every once in awhile to take off though and really let your muscles recover. It’s great you felt energetic your first run out!
