Sneak Peak of the New House (w/Furniture)!

I AM SO EXCITED to finally share with you a sneak peak of the new house.

On Friday we took delivery of our first set of furniture for the living room. We still have a few things on the way, but the couch, love seat and tables are here! 🙂

After working all morning and afternoon Friday and Saturday, Adam and I hurried home Saturday evening to shower so we could head out to see to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!

Adam hasn’t read any of the Harry Potter books, and definitely hasn’t read the Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them textbook, but even he liked this movie. He said it had a more adult feel than the core movies, and there is some parallel between the politics in the movie and what’s going on in our world today.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan I definitely recommend it — and if you have non-HP friends bring them too!

On Sunday we headed back to the house for more painting – this time the master bedroom.

Just look at how cute Adam looks painting the bedroom ?. That’s my guy. He edges the walls and then I roll them. We’re not pros but it does feel good to look around a room and know that we had a hand in transforming it.

I did manage to also get in a couple of good runs this weekend. The weather has been AMAZING and my calves have been feeling a lot better too. I’m running faster than my Hansons “easy” pace on these easy runs, but that’s the only way I can get my calves to behave.

Lisa suggested that maybe my form breaks down when I run really easy and that’s why my calves feel the worst when I’m running the slowest. That could be the case and it’s definitely something that I need to analyze and probably work on.

Since the weather has been so nice out these faster paces actually feel easy though so I’m rolling with it for now.

That Turkey Trot later this week has my name written all over it. It’s hard to believe, but this will be my first race since the A1A Half Marathon back in February! Can’t wait!

If you watched my vlog I really need your opinion on the half bath paint color!

Have you seen Fantastic Beasts yet? Thoughts?

How were your runs this weekend? Nice weather??

The sofa and love seat look so comfy! Aren’t you afraid Cecil is going to demolish those baubles?

I love your gold glittery shoes! 🙂

Why are men so attractive when working on houses?

You guys are putting a lot of work into your house. Talk about delayed gratification!

Okay, as for the bathroom colors, #2 and #3 look best on my computer screen. I am leaning toward the lighter color because it is a small space, but I’m not sure the colors I see are the true colors, you know what I mean?

When we painted our front room (music room) I decided to do like a dark orange. When we took everything off the walls and painted it, it looked like an orange fun house! I was so scared. What did we do??? Then we put up all the wall hangings and the drapes and it looked fine haha. But for about a day we were living in a fun house.

Hahha yes I’m sure at some point that blanket will no longer have balls and they’ll all be hidden under the couch!

Thank you! I loooove my gold glittery shoes too. I have them in silver as well. They’re super comfortable and I feel cool in them 😀

#2 and #3 look best in real life too. I’m with you, I wanted to like a lighter color to open up the space, but the darker colors seem to go better. Ahh, maybe I need to get even more paint swatches!

Glad your calves have been doing a little better! Turkey trots are so fun but I don’t think Ill be doing on this year. Looks like your house is really coming along!

      Thanks Lisa! 🙂

Time to start stalking Home Goods for wall decor! The new house looks great! I am in the middle of painting my hallway–just the high parts left, but I have to wait for Dave to help with the staging. I finally feel like my house is coming together after living here for 10 months.

With the tile I think I would go for color 4 …I usually like really light colors too, but when you pull that together I bet it’ll be pretty.
Love your furniture, you are making lots of progress 🙂
It is strange going slower bugs your calves, maybe Lisa is on the right track.
Shoes make such a big difference too, maybe you could try a different model??
I hope you have a fun turkey trot!!

Thanks Karen! I am leaning towards 3 right now but 4 is a close runner up. I might need to get some more paint swatches as well. Deciding on a color for this tiny little bathroom has been the hardest part so far, go figure!

      I can’t try a different model, I love my Glycerins 😀

We saw Fantastic Beasts yesterday…I liked it! I didn’t read it because I wasn’t sure if I would like the format or not, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but I thought it was well done. This weekend was a change in weather–it was super cold compared to the weather we have been having recently. I went on a 6 mile group run with a local running store on Saturday and it was 36 degrees…brr! I do like seeing the pace drop that typically accompanies cooler temps though! 🙂

36 degrees!!!!! That’s the kind of cold that I don’t think would help me run any faster. I would probably take 2 steps out the door and head back to bed 🙂 Way to go getting out there and getting it done!

YAY congrats on new furniture! You guys sure are putting a lot of work into this place, I’m sure it’s going to be great! I’m way too lazy for that, which is why we may never be homeowners, LOL.

As for the paint color: it seems like #3 worked best (the one you were tapping with your middle finger). To be totally honest, it didn’t seem like any of those colors were a total match for the shade of green in those tiles – they all looked slightly too blue. But like Meg said, it could just be the lighting in the video and maybe I’m not seeing “true shades”.

Hahah getting this house ready is a lot like training for a marathon. Every weekend I spend a lot of hours working on it in the hopes that at the end I will end up really happy! 😀

I agree, I think #3 works best, but before I commit I may need to look at more colors. I think you’re right that they might be a little too blue and not green enough!

    Adam sighting…yaaaaay!!

I had another thought on your calves, I’ll message you.

Fantastic Beasts huh. I’ll have to go see it now. I’ve been skeptical but if you’re giving it a good review than we will have to check it out.

Runs were perfect. Nice and casual. Feels good to run in great weather and slower pace lol

Speaking of significant others, I remember Mrs. Schlub used to feature on the blog more. Where has she been hiding?!

I am sure your legs are enjoying the break after all the work you put them through over the last couple of months!!

Love seeing snippets of your house!

I’m awful at picking out colors so take my advice with a grain of salt. I am a fan of lighter colors in small areas that don’t get a lot of light. So I would lean towards that in your half bath because it didn’t seem like there’s a window in there from the video.

Something I like to do is buy the sample cans of paint in a few colors and paint large portions of the wall with each color. Then you can really see how the swatch will look against your tile.

Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!

I am leaning towards color #3 but I really want a lighter color in there since it is a small, windowless space. I think I’m going to end up looking at more paint swatches this weekend. Good idea to get paint samples as well! I’ve avoided that so far since I don’t like painting and don’t want to do more of it than I have too! ahah 😀

You are making some great progress on your new place!! Picking out paint colors is a hard task. I do like the green – making on the darker end of the scale. What about a copper color? Just a thought.
My whole house was painted beige when we built it 13 years ago. I may never change it! It’s a lot of work 🙂
Now that we are all psyched up from our trip to Universal, I think we will be seeing Fantastic Beasts this week too. That looks like an AWESOME place to see a movie! I don’t think we have those around here.

Ohhh copper, I had not thought of that! Adam mentioned brown, but I just don’t think I could take brown walls in a bathroom. It would always remind me of … you know… number two 😀

YES you must go see the movie! I’m sure the whole fam will like it!

Adam and I looooooove the cinema suites. The tickets are super affordable (not really any more than regular movie tickets) but you get to relax in awesome reclining seats. Whenever he makes me to to a midnight premier with him my only request is that he gets tickets to the suites so that I can lay back and fall asleep if I need too! 😀

I’ll admit, I had mixed feelings about FBawtFT. Like, I enjoyed it, but I felt at first it was really slow and I actually didn’t love how they fleshed out Newt and Tina. Jacob and Queenie were the best parts! The casting of Johnny Depp through me off too because I felt like Grindelwald should have been younger? But maybe my timelines aren’t quite clear. This occurred after he and Dumblefore dueled…but weren’t they kind of young when they dueled? IDK. I felt like if Dumbledore was like 70 in the 1980s when HP took place, then Grindelwald should’ve been in his 20s in this movie. But maybe Dumbledore was really like 150 in the 1980s so the age makes more sense.

I need to know how old Tom Riddle was when these events occurred so I know how all the timelines shake out!
