Running in the Rain + StrideBox Review!

Hi there! I hope you are still enjoying a fun, festive week. Today I thought we could catch up on life’s important stuff :).

1. I got SOAKED on my run yesterday. When I first stepped outside there was a light drizzle but it quickly turned into a major downpour. Normally I don’t like running in the rain but it’s been so hot and humid lately that the cool droplets felt really nice!

^ That top is normally a very light grey! I had to wring all of my clothes out into the sink when I got home!

Day two of the 30 day run streak is in the books! 🙂

2. Back in October StrideBox reached out to see if I’d be interested in receiving a few of their boxes. If you’re not familiar StrideBox is box that arrives monthly to your doorstep with all kinds of running products to try out for just $15/mo.

As someone who loves trying new running stuff how could I say no? StrideBox did not pay me for my review, but they did send me three boxes. Here are my honest thoughts + a review of all of the products that arrived in December’s box:

(Note: Just a warning that if you’re the kind of person who can’t stand the sound of chewing this video might not be for you. I do try all of the food products so there is some chewing involved. I don’t think it’s super bad, but I know a lot of people find that to be annoying!)

3. I WON the post-Christmas sales. You know I have a green C stocking for Cecil. Leading up to Christmas I wanted to buy the matching A and K, but I couldn’t find an A… well I finally found one and it was 50% off! 🙂

You have no idea how happy this makes me. I can’t wait to hang these next December and have them out all month long!

4. My dad got into Virtual Reality yesterday! Adam has a Vive and my dad loved playing the VR games! He played for over an hour straight!

I never would have thought my dad would be into it, but he loved it! How funny!

5. A lot of people have been coming over the house the last few days. Cecil has been handling the increased number of visitors like a champ, but yesterday he kind of gave me the “really, more people?” look.

^ MAJOR side eye!

I think all the chatter is interrupting his nap schedule. Cecil needs his beauty rest!

Did you pick up anything in the post-Christmas sales?
Do you receive a StrideBox every month?

Just getting back to my normal routine from the holidays. I avoid the stores after Christmas. The long lines for sales, the long lines for returns, I prefer to relax at home.

Ha your dad trying the VR glasses looks exactly like the commercials you see on tv. I bet it was great fun for him and for everyone watching.

It was definitely fun to watch my dad in VR, and more fun to listen to him react to what he was seeing! He said some funny things 😀

I ended up shopping a lot of stores on Dec 26th, but didn’t buy much. My daughter had a bit of Christmas cash burning a hole in her pocket! I did buy about 7 rolls of wrapping paper, so that made me feel like I scored big. Lots of “non-Christmas” looking paper to use all year round!

NICE! What a great idea to go for the “non Christmas” looking paper, that’s so smart!

It’s too bad your name doesn’t start with a T because you could make your stockings spell CAT!!! 🙂

That is cute your dad and Adam had something techy to bond over. 🙂

I went post Christmas shopping today…. I got SO MUCH outdoor lighting. I can’t freaking WAIT until next year!

So I have heard of Stride Box before but it never really interested me to get it. As I’m sure you have gathered, I’m not big on buying stuff like gus, gels, blocks, gum, all that special running jazz. However, as you know, I would watch you blog about LITERALLY ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I thoroughly enjoyed you review! Especially because you gave your honest opinions in real time! I think that will be very helpful for people who are considering Stride Box.

I would probably categorize myself as someone who doesn’t want to try new things… I wish I wanted to though! I have started reading Stitch Fix reviews and the whole “try new things” is one of the biggest reasons people like Stitch Fix. I guess that’s how it goes with the mail order boxes!

I wonder if they should be careful of what inspirational posts they send people? I mean, couldn’t they find one about the heat that they send to people in FL and send all the cold ones to people in the north?

I am so skeptical of that caffeine gum. You will have to let me know if it really gives you energy. I get that some people like to suck on gym/candy to help dry mouth when running, but I am particularly interested if the gum actually gives you the energy that it claims.

I don’t think I felt a caffeine boost from the gum, but then again I drink a lot of coffee so I may be immune to it. These days I honestly think the smell of coffee does more for me than actually drinking it! 🙂 The fruit punch flavor of the gum tasted really good though and it lasts a pretty long time, which would be key for chewing it during long runs!

I can’t wait for next year either, your house is going to be DECKED OUT, and I want to hang some stockings and put a full size tree up!

Ive always been intrigued by Stridebox! I need to do some returns today so I guess Ill see if there are any good sales but there isn’t really anything I need at this point!

I hear ya! I went to Home Goods the other day with a nice gift card in my pocket and walked out with 0 things. That was shocking, haha!

Trying out virtual reality seems really fun! Can you believe we live in the FUTURE enough that it really exists for us to play with??

I’ve been interested in StrideBox, but it seems they send way more than I could ever possibly use and enjoy! Maybe be something to consider for my birthday or something, though.

YES! I would love StrideBox if someone gifted it to me, but I don’t think I would buy it for myself. I never would have discovered the run gum without StrideBox which is cool, but that was probably the only thing after 3 months that I feel sure I’ll actually purchase on my own. It’s fun to get the box in the mail though! 😀
