Guess what? Today I’ve got an awesome giveaway for you from Swiftwick, a compression sock company created by athletes for athletes.  Thanks to their Contoured Compression™ Fit and Fiber First™ Moisture Wicking technology, they guarantee you will never receive a blister!

To win a $100 gift card to use on any products on the Swiftwick website just enter the contest below:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The giveaway will end on March 2nd and I’ll randomly select a winner on that day!

Swiftwick kindly sent me a pair of the Aspire Twelve Knee High Socks in black and the Aspire Seven Crew Socks in mint berry to try out.

I’m not personally a fan of the length of the crew socks, but I really LOVE the knee high socks. They are super lightweight for compression socks and slip on so easily while still providing a good amount of compression. I actually bought a pair in HiVis Yellow myself.

I’ve worn the knee high socks both during yoga:

And during a run of course. I also wear them just lounging around the house because they are really comfortable!

If you enter the giveaway, good luck!!

Now let’s just catch up a little :).

Cecil Went to the Vet

Yesterday Cecil and I went to the vet for a checkup. The last few weeks he has coughed at least once a week and of course I was very worried! Turns out he just has acute asthma and will be fine!

If it gets worse he may need to use an inhaler or take a steroid but for now we’ll try to manage it by minimizing his exposure to things that may trigger the asthma attacks.

Can You Believe This Sky?

On Tuesday I was treated to this view on my run. It was a million times more beautiful than it looks in the picture. This is why I love running. Back in the day when I would only do the eliptical and stationary bike in the gym I was missing out on stuff like this!

Yesterday was totally different, it was super rainy pretty much all day, but the temps did drop into the upper 60s!

We Bought a Pergola for the Patio!

Last weekend Adam and I bought a pergola from Target for our patio during their President’s Day Sale! Unfortunately it was sold out in store so we’re waiting for it to arrive in the mail. It should be here early next week!

We still haven’t agreed decided on patio furniture so while we’ll be putting up the pergola soon we won’t have any seating to put under it, hah!

A Delicious Recipe You Have to Try

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about using the Yummly app to find new recipes. A couple of nights ago I made this delicious Avocatta Lasagna Rolls recipe.

My pictures don’t do the recipe justice, but it’s so simple to make and really good. You basically just mix together avocado, chopped fresh spinach, parmasan cheese and garlic powder together while cooking your lasagna noodles.

You then lay out your noodles, spoon the mixture on, roll the noodles up and bake for 20-ish minutes.

I’m not a food blogger so these pics are pretty bad but trust me that it’s DELICIOUS!

If you give it a try let me know what you think!

What’s the best meal you’ve made recently?
Which pair of Swiftwick compression socks do you want to try?
Making any exciting plans for the weekend?!

I love pergolas! I’m glad Cecil is going to be okay. He has a good cat mommy to take care of him! Does he and Adam have a special relationship because Adam is at home during the day?

I’ve been loving this St. Ives Grapefruit Body Scrub lately. It smells SO good and leaves my skin so soft!

I did not know cats could cough or have asthma! What kind of treatment will he be getting? I wonder if it’s similar to my asthma treatments 😉 I’m glad he’s going to be fine!

Wow, Cecil has a pretty plush carrier! We have 3 carriers and they are all plastic. They cats don’t like them one bit! We had to give my cat a huge pill (1 and a half pills actually) this week and it was torture. I felt so bad for my cat, who almost gashed my leg in half. But, it was necessary. Tapeworm. Long story, which involves foster kitties we think. So enough about my cats… hope Cecil is feeling better!

Crew length socks are really great for winter running, which I realize you will likely never have to suffer through. I always forget to put tall socks on before my tights and then I have to choose between 1) freezing ankles from the gap between no-show socks and tights or 2) taking my tights off and starting over. I’m pretty lazy so I usually just freeze. I keep meaning to buy some crew length…and then I don’t.

Glad to hear Cecil is feeling ok. Wow that’s an awesome giveaway, I actually need to buy some new socks lol. Great job on the pergola, that thing is awesome.

I always have pictures where the view is amazing in person and in pictures not quite as good. Hate when that happens lol.

I’d love to win! I have an injured ankle so am wearing compression socks pretty much nonstop right now.

  11. Kerry

I live in knee socks at home. My house gets really cold at night so I always have a pair on hand. Their so wonderful. None of them are compressions, so I’d love to try a pair of compression knee socks.

The best meal I’ve had lately was a pizza that I made for dinner. It was quite the strange combination, but very good. I started with caramelized onions and was topped with sliced Bosc pears, chopped dates, candied pecans, brie, arugula and smoked cheddar cheese…I highly recommend it! I’ve only owned one pair of Swiftwick socks and they were definitely one of my favorites. I’d like to get a pair of Aspire Twelves in black. This weekend I have to work and also get the kids off to their various practices. I did my long run today just to make sure I could fit it in.
We love lasagna roll ups at our house. I let the kids add their own stuff so everyone gets what they want. I usually opt for a ricotta mixture, spinach and turkey meatballs.

    I need new socks!
