The Best Runs are When You Feel Like You Are Flying

Happy Monday!ย This weekend I got in a somewhat conflicting 10-miler. It took me about four miles to really get into the run, but once I did I felt like I was flying <<< the best feeling for a long run!

I was pleasantly surprised the run took a turn for the better because I was a little sleep deprived when I started. You see, Saturday morning I was up and out of bed by 5am because a TV show client of mine had their series premiere at 9am! It’s a show about pro fishing on an outdoors-y channel.

A big part of my working hours last week were spent getting things ready for the launch of this show, so on Friday I sported a nautical theme to work:

After work Adam and I met one of his co-workers for drinks, and then we headed across the Venetian Causeway to Miami Beach. We had tickets to see a live showing of @Midnight, a show on Comedy Central hosted by Chris Hardwick!

If you’ve never watched @Midnight, you might also know Hardwick from Talking Dead or Talking Bad.

The show was hosted at The Colony Theater and was pretty funny. It followed the format of the show when it’s on Comedy Central and included some audience interaction.

I honestly think the funniest part was the standup bit Hardwick did before the @Midnight portion of the show started.

I had NO IDEA he was so funny! ย I honestly think he should quit @Midnight and do standup comedy full time. It probably doesn’t pay as well, but standup is his calling. He was completely on point the whole time!

After a fun weekend, I am looking forward to getting back into the routine of the work week (I really love routine, if you didn’t know) and logging some quality running miles.

Do you watch any shows on Comedy Central?

– Yes! I always watch Tosh.0 and Workaholics, and sometimes watch The Colbert Report and @Midnight (but they are mostly on past my bed time)

Any Breaking Bad or Walking Dead fans?

– I love, love, loved Breaking Bad and was hooked right away in season one. Adam and I tried to watch Walking Dead but never got into it.

One thing that sucks about running long more often is that it really DOES take awhile to start to feel good on a run!

I loved Breaking Bad and I love TWD. They’re definitely two shows that I got fully invested into the characters, and I get anxious waiting to see what’s going to happen. I’m kind of glad BB is over because now I can relax without all the tension in my life! lol

Haha, I know exactly how you feel about BB. It was SUCH an amazing show but my anxiety skyrocketed during each episode!

Great run, glad it turned around for you. Love that feeling as well, only feeling better is the PR feeling after a race.

Glad you guys had a good time at the show. We are die hard Walking Dead AND Breaking Bad fans. Great shows.

We tried SO HARD to get into Walking Dead. We watched the entire first season and the series premiere of season two, but then gave up. The story felt like it didn’t advance fast enough for us, I guess we’re impatient when it comes to zombies ๐Ÿ™‚

Ooh I love the flying feeling! Glad you had a great run and a great weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love the nautical necklace!

That IS the best feeling when running! Good stuff ๐Ÿ™‚

I haven’t seen either show hey – feel a bit out of the loop over here. Might see if they’re on youtube then (our ‘tv channel’ of choice from China, well when our computer’s not playing up, hmmm).

    Looked like a great night!

Yes to flying! That’s the BEST feeling. I watch The Daily Show from time to time. Always good for a laugh.

Ah, I know EXACTLY what you mean. Those runs seem to be fewer and far between for me these days, but when you head out and warm up for a few miles and then everything just seems to “click”…it’s amazing. ๐Ÿ™‚ Such a great feeling! ๐Ÿ™‚
