Every Monday morning when my alarm goes off at 5am I contemplate the world’s biggest dilemma:
The struggle to find my true identity is real. Yesterday I did manage to pull myself together and go to the office :).
The best part of the day was definitely coming home to share some cantaloup with Adam. I crave cantaloup so much during the spring and summer. As a kid I would eat it with my breakfast, lunch and dinner while lounging by my grandparent’s pool. Such good summer memories!
I’d gorge on cantaloup and grapes, and then my grandparents and I would play Monopoly, Rummy or Racko until my parents came to pick me up. Those were the days! Now I’m the one coming home after a long day of work, ugh! 😀
After my cantaloup snack I headed upstairs for a quick upper body lifting session. We just got a new bench for the gym and I was excited to use it.
I’m not entirely sure how the other one broke but I’m kind of glad it did because it was old and this one is much more comfortable!
I just did a quick and easy workout of:
– Chest press 5 x 7 @ 30lbs
– Shoulder press 5 x 7 @ 30lbs
– Bent over rows 5 x 7 @ 25lbs
– Single arm swing 3 x 15 @ 15lbs
– Bicep curls 3 x 10 @ 10lbs
– Plank 3 x 1 minute
– Jasyoga Run Your Core video
Nothing really to write home about except I have a blog so I will write about it anyway :).
Can you see my tattoo peeking out in the pic above? I can’t believe it’s over a week old now! It’s healing really nicely, but it can get pretty itchy at times because it’s scabbing over (sorry, tmi). I’ll be glad when the healing phase is over!
Anyway, when Adam and I first decided to create a home gym I was really excited for it. I still really love the convenience of having a home gym but I miss having access to cardio equipment.
Running outside is my preference, but on cross training days I used to always do some time on the stationary bike or the elliptical. I know I don’t need to do either of those two things, but they do feel nice when my legs are tired but I still want to get them moving.
Since the gym and my office share a room we don’t have the space for cardio equipment so I’ll just have to live without it. Maybe I’ll start taking walks on the days that I do cross training so that I feel like I’m getting a little cardio in.
