The Color Run Race Recap 2018

Hey there! I hope you had a fun weekend. This weekend I ran The Color Run, celebrated mother’s day with my mom and celebrated Sam’s birthday (Adam’s dad)!

If you follow me on Instagram (@KristinaRunning) then you know The Color Run was something of a disappointment to me at first. The course was only 2.3 miles long which was frustrating because I put in so much mental energy thinking about this day and how it would be my first 5K since surgery. Plus it was supposed to be a 5K time trial for me to set the paces for my training over the next couple of months.

I did The Color Run a few years ago and the course was short (2.7 miles I think), but last year it was the full 3.1 miles so I figured they sorted it out and it would be the full distance this year too.

After taking some time, and running the additional mileage on my own, I gained perspective and that’s what I want to share today:

What a day of ups and downs!

Color runs are almost always short! But they are so much fun !! But congrats on your 5kish!! how did you feel?

I once ran a color run, and because it was short, I kept running until I hit the 3.1.

I can’t wait to watch your vlog when I get home. That would annoy me that the race was short! By nearly a mile!? Unacceptable. I think your missing distance was tacked on to the end of my race. It was supposed to be 15.5 and it was 17.
