The First Day of Holiday Vacation: I Can Run Whenever I Want!

I’m officially on vacation!! For the next week and a half I will be a stay at home cat mom.

This means I will be doing the following things: sleep in, run anytime I want, see friends/family, spend every single waking minute following Adam around (I know he is excited about this) and spoil Cecil with Christmas gifts because I don’t have a human child! Yay for vacation!

The last day in the office my co-worker brought in homemade cupcakes that were almost too good:

I don’t eat frosting (just a weird thing about me I guess) but I love the base of cupcakes / cakes! Mostly I think frosting is too sweet. Probably why I don’t like Gu either.

Friday night and Saturday Adam and I did a little Christmas shopping and I got myself a few gifts as well. I felt it was deserved since I got a pretty nice end of year bonus at workΒ (yay) : ).

I picked up a stick roller (this thing is awesome/painful/awesome):

And a new running shirt. It says RUN on it so I guess I can’t wear it on cross training days.

This beautiful purple shirt got broken in yesterday when I did seven miles outside in the sweltering December heat (“feels like 83 degrees”).

When the run was over the top was a much darker purple because I was sweating so much. I’ll spare you the visual.

It was a really pretty day though and I’m glad I actually got my run in before 10pm unlike most of last week! It was nice to see the sun.

Today I am super excited because I get to see my grad school BFFs! Spending time with them is much better than getting up early to go to work : )

Do you use a stick roller or a foam roller?

– I have a foam roller but I don’t have enough upper body strength to effectively use it on my legs….

See, I only eat the frosting (because of the whole “no gluten” thing haha) but I’m a sucker for sweets!

    Hooray for vacation!!

Ugh yes. For some reason I didn’t even THINK about the gluten in it. I need to get better at thinking before I eat everything!

Yay for vacation! Best week ever! We’re getting a “cold” front so get ready for better running weather.
Ps tell me what you think about that stick. I’ve been thinking about getting one πŸ™‚

Merry Christmas! I just commented on your previous post that I like all things frosting and then I see you don’t eat it and it kind of cracked me up. I had to work yesterday, but it was a joke, really, to be in the office. And today, when I actually have vacation, I am still up well before 6 am. I will be going back to sleep, soon, though!
