The Most Expensive Things I Own!
If we’re friends on Instagram (@KristinaRunning) then you already know these guys have been officially retired:
Saying goodbye to an old pair of running shoes is always made easier when the new pair arrives! Ali suggested a couple of weeks ago that maybe I am in need of a different pair of shoes since I’m constantly dealing with hip issues. I got fitted for the Brooks Adrenalines about 2 or 2.5 years ago (?) now. It’s definitely been a while.
The other day Janae posted about the new Brooks Shoe Finder and I decided to give it a try. You perform a few simple activities and then answer some questions. At the end the Brooks Shoe Finder tells you which shoe is a good fit for you.
The shoe finder suggested that I purchase the Brooks Glycerin, which is funny because last month when I was talking with Kerry she suggested that maybe I should move to the Glycerin. Kerry, I think you have a bright future in shoe sales if you ever want to go that route, haha!
My shiny new Glycerins just arrived … and they are beautiful!
(^ Just so pretty!!!!)
The Glycerins are honestly the softest, most comfortable shoes I have ever had the pleasure to wear. I could sleep in them! The material they made from feels like heaven? It’s so much softer and lighter than the rigid material that Adrenalines are made from. The cushioning on the soles feels very similar to the Adrenalines which is nice because the shoes feel familiar but better.
At the end of December I bought a really pretty pair of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16s.
I haven’t completely decided what I’m going to do with them yet, but I think I’m going to regulate them to gym shoes (and errand running shoes). I can’t just let them collect dust in the closest because running shoes are the most expensive things I own! haha
Speaking of luxuries, a couple of weeks ago I blogged about trying a new meal service. Adam and I are both now using Fuel Meals. The food is DELICIOUS! (This is not sponsored… I wish! haha)
Adam was skeptical until he saw my first week of food arrive – then he signed up too. All of the food is made fresh and then shipped overnight in dry ice – we get our deliveries about once a week.
Each delivery contains 10 individual meals per person which comes out to about $130 per person or $260 in total (with shipping).
They currently offer signature meals, customizable meals (you choose a protein and two sides) and gluten free meals. Vegan and vegetarian meals are coming soon.
^ Definitely not sponsored, just sharing info in case anyone out there is as lazy as we are when it comes to cooking/meal prep :).
Okay, I’m heading out … gotta go to work to pay for all of these shoes and meals! 😀 Have a great day!
Have you changed shoe types over the years?
Do you meal prep on the weekends for the rest of the week?
