Yesterday was a bummer. My hip was still bothering me (Thank you to Ali and Meg for the great hip stretch suggestions) and my coach said to just stretch and walk.
Adam wanted me to go to the gym with him, so I walked on the treadmill. I cannot imagine there is anything more boring than walking on the treadmill…. zZzzzzZzzzz.
I was feeling kind of bleh and scrolling through Facebook on my phone when I saw this:
I didn’t download the app because I am very particular about which apps can be on my phone, but I do like the idea of writing down 3 positive things.
Here are my three positive thoughts for today:
- I’m going to LONDON this year!
- I’m running a fun half marathon this coming Sunday at Disney
- I have a really cute cat that always makes me smile
Adam (he works from home) texted me this picture yesterday afternoon : )
That’s the good life.
And on a another positive note, the other day Scott Jurek (my favorite runner) posted this quote to his Facebook page and I really love it:
So I created this:
This is going to be my mantra for the Princess Half this weekend.
Speaking of which, we’re leaving for Disney tomorrow after work! Yay!
What is your current favorite running/motivational mantra?

When I feel frustrated with my training, I try to think back to where I was a year ago. Usually puts me back in perspective. Great quote by Scott! My running mantra lately has been “Take it easy, dont get hurt” lol. But in my races all I think about it “Just keep moving your feet.”
1) No IT Band Pain in about a week
2) Its Thursday, weekend is almost here
3) I have the best fiance in the world who supports me no matter what

Love the quote! When I ran my first few events my mantra I would say in my head was, “My pace, my record, my run.” Then during one of my events I thought, “MY record I have to live with all year!” and it helped me pick up the pace lol Cecil does live the good life! That’s how my furry babies are…very pampered lol. My Otto will go from happy to biting in seconds. This morning I didn’t get out of bed fast enough for him so he started chewing on my blanket…moody. Have a wonderful weekend:)
I know two people running the Half this weekend at Disney. The best of luck to you, dear!
Augh I would hate walking on the treadmill! But it is true, you did your training and you are READY!!!!
2 days til race day. Your are going to kill it. Good luck if you dont post until after the race.

I love that quote! I’m going to remember it for my birthday challenge on Friday.
