The Websites I Visit Most

Happy Friday! Today I thought I would try something new and talk about websites.

Even though I spend A LOT of time on the Internet, I really visit the same sites over and over again. If I’m online for something other than work, here’s what I’m doing:

Browsing Interesting Finds on Amazon

I looooooooooooove the new-ish interesting finds section on Amazon. I literally find at least five things a day that I don’t need but that I really want.

A butter dish that’s in the shape of a whale? Who doesn’t want that! A lunch box with a cat on it? I didn’t know I wanted it but obviously I do.

Seeing What’s Going On in the World

I used to use Facebook mostly to stay in touch with my friends, but lately it’s turned into my number one source for breaking news.

I’m able to get a nice mix of sports news and world news which I really enjoy.

Seeing the news articles that my friend’s share provides interesting perspective. I see stories from NPR, FOX, CNN, Washington Post, The Daily Show and more. Luckily no one I know shares anything from Breitbart.

Reading Blogs

It’s probably no surprise that I read a lot of blogs, especially running blogs!

I used to think online friendships were weird, but now I’m really grateful for them. It’s so nice to be able to connect with likeminded people, and to be able to find them outside of my immediate radius.

I mean I don’t know anyone in my real life who loves running and cats as much as I do, but through blogging I’ve met so many other people like me (Megan, Kerry, Karen, Lisa, Hanna… the list goes on and I love that.) Aaaaaand since I’ve met Megan and Kerry in real life I count them as my real life friends now too :).

Watching YouTube

I watch an unhealthy amount of YouTube but it has content for every interest! I go to youtube for makeup tips, workout ideas, travel vlogs, funny videos and world news.

I like that I can curate my own video feed so that it shows me a little bit of everything that I like. I can then pick and choose based on what mood I’m in!

Sorting Photos

As a blogger I tend to take a lot of photos on my phone. I have all of my pics auto upload to Google Photos so that I can easily sort through them and decide which ones I want to post.

I also just like having an archive of all the photos I take. Every once in a while it’s fun to go back to a random month and see what what I was up to!

In September 2014 Adam and I were on our way to Paris and London:

I am really hopeful that I’ll get into the London Marathon for next year because I really want to go back! I mean, we didn’t even do the Harry Potter tour last time and I am dying to do that!

*fingers crossed*

Which websites do you spend the most amount of time on?
What’s a dream race that you would looooove to run?

I definitely spend the most time reading blogs but Ive also been on Pinterest alot lately. Im not good at all with keeping my photos organized. A London marathon would be amazing- I hope you get in!

Amazon is so dangerous. The other day I realized we needed new sheets. I spent like 4 hours on Amazon and ended up with two sets of sheets and a rug…because why not? I love getting mail so the addiction is made worse by my excitement at not only shopping, but also having it delivered! What did we do before online shopping?! I can’t believe I used to have to go to a store for things!

I like to visit YouTube to watch makeup videos. That’s another time suck…I end up spending so much time watching one after another! And I rarely use the looks they tutorial. I just like watching them.

Amazon is my jam. With that and blogs I don’t really go much of anywhere else on the internet. I may check the weather or the news too on occasion. 😉

  4. February 17, 2017 / 7:44 am

I visit the Weather website a lot! I obsess about my running weather, since I’m only getting out there 2 days a week I really need to know!! (not really, but I think I do) I have my blogs I check out every morning… and then wonder if something is going on in their lives if they don’t post! Funny thing, my son used to have my YouTube account signed in and I would get a TON of Minecraft video recommendations every freaking time I looked at it. Thank God I finally figured out how to clear that out. When I work at the bank I can’t get on lots of sites, like social media, Amazon, etc, so that’s a bummer, but hey, my phone still works!

  5. February 17, 2017 / 8:13 am

I definitely need to reorganize my photos! Talk about a big job 🙂

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

My dream race? I’d love to run a marathon in New Zealand one day, where my dad and his side of the family are from. Or Spain. Locally, I would love to run Big Sur.

Thanks for the shoutout! 🙂 I agree, it’s so nice to know that there are people out there who won’t just roll their eyes when I post kitty pics all over Instagram, hehe.

I spend a lot of time on blogs, too. I used to spend a lot of time on Facebook but I have been cutting back lately to save my stress levels.

I couldn’t wait to read this post! Do you mind if I do one too??? I did not know about the interesting finds section of amazon. That would be a good place to go for gift ideas! Every day I got to bligs, Facebook, and !
