Happy Friday! Today I thought I would try something new and talk about websites.
Even though I spend A LOT of time on the Internet, I really visit the same sites over and over again. If I’m online for something other than work, here’s what I’m doing:
Browsing Interesting Finds on Amazon
I looooooooooooove the new-ish interesting finds section on Amazon. I literally find at least five things a day that I don’t need but that I really want.
A butter dish that’s in the shape of a whale? Who doesn’t want that! A lunch box with a cat on it? I didn’t know I wanted it but obviously I do.
Seeing What’s Going On in the World
I used to use Facebook mostly to stay in touch with my friends, but lately it’s turned into my number one source for breaking news.
I’m able to get a nice mix of sports news and world news which I really enjoy.
Seeing the news articles that my friend’s share provides interesting perspective. I see stories from NPR, FOX, CNN, Washington Post, The Daily Show and more. Luckily no one I know shares anything from Breitbart.
It’s probably no surprise that I read a lot of blogs, especially running blogs!
I used to think online friendships were weird, but now I’m really grateful for them. It’s so nice to be able to connect with likeminded people, and to be able to find them outside of my immediate radius.
I mean I don’t know anyone in my real life who loves running and cats as much as I do, but through blogging I’ve met so many other people like me (Megan, Kerry, Karen, Lisa, Hanna… the list goes on and I love that.) Aaaaaand since I’ve met Megan and Kerry in real life I count them as my real life friends now too :).
I watch an unhealthy amount of YouTube but it has content for every interest! I go to youtube for makeup tips, workout ideas, travel vlogs, funny videos and world news.
I like that I can curate my own video feed so that it shows me a little bit of everything that I like. I can then pick and choose based on what mood I’m in!
As a blogger I tend to take a lot of photos on my phone. I have all of my pics auto upload to Google Photos so that I can easily sort through them and decide which ones I want to post.
I also just like having an archive of all the photos I take. Every once in a while it’s fun to go back to a random month and see what what I was up to!
In September 2014 Adam and I were on our way to Paris and London:
I am really hopeful that I’ll get into the London Marathon for next year because I really want to go back! I mean, we didn’t even do the Harry Potter tour last time and I am dying to do that!
Which websites do you spend the most amount of time on?
What’s a dream race that you would looooove to run?
