Thursday Survey Results!

Hey there! Today I’m coming at you with a pretty random post. I Google’d “survey for friends” and this is what came up :).

What is the #1 most played song in your music library?

Currently (general): Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth

Currently (running playlist): Cake by the Ocean by DNCE

All of 2015 (general): Style by Taylor Swift

All of 2015 (running playlist): Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars

What is one of your favorite quotes?

My favorite quote of all time is “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” (Aristotle)

A close runner up is, “The mere fact that you call making love ‘pop-pop’ shows me you’re not ready.” I laugh so hard I cry during this episode every time!

If you had to work on only one project for the next year what would it be?

I would work on running a PR at the Chicago Marathon! That’s my number one goal for 2016!

What is your first thought when you wake up?

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, hit snooze. Hit snooze again.

…. Okay, now walk to shower with eyes closed without tripping over anything.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

A Puppy Surprise stuffed animal. My parents wanted to teach me about the value of money so they said I had to buy the stuffed animal myself. Since I didn’t have a job or any money saved at seven years old (or whatever age I was) they made me put the stuffed animal on layaway LOL. I did little chores here and there until I saved up enough to pay for my toy.

If you didn’t grow up in the 90s, Puppy Surprise stuffed animals were these toy dogs that had 3, 4 or 5 little puppies inside of them.

After having to wait a couple of weeks to save up for my stuffed animal I was so anxious to find out how many puppies I would get. I distinctly remember the disappointment I felt when I realized it was only three. It was then that I learned life isn’t always fair. I had worked so hard for my stuffed animal and I only got three out of five possible puppies even though I paid the same amount as some other little kid who would get five puppies. So frustrating!

What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you tear up?

I cry very easily when it comes to movies, TV and books. I sometimes tear up at commercials.

Yesterday I cried when watching a big wrestling match with Adam! I just thought about all of the hard work and years of sacrifice the athletes made to get where they were and the waterworks started!

What’s the most played song in your music library from 2015? Most listened to running song?

I cry at the silliest things on TV too! I can totally imagine crying at a wrestling match. A couple Sundays ago (I think) some NFL team was honoring Brett Fauvre and I cried when he came out on the field. I don’t know who he is and I couldn’t care less about football, but I cried anyway lol! I often cry at Survivor too. 🙂

Your Puppy Surprise story made me laugh SO HARD!!! I wonder how many other kids got the shaft like you did?

Hahaha some NFL team honoring Brett Favre! This comment makes me so happy 😀

      I cried during that too!

I think the majority of kids got the shaft. I think I read somewhere that 1 in 5 people got 5 puppies or something like that. Womp womp!

Dang it – I can imagine the disappointment at getting only 3 puppies!! That kind of thing happens to me too. So unfair!
I think my first purchase was a Duran Duran cassette (yep, I’m THAT old!!!).
Favorite quote – “I’m a great believer in luck. I find the harder I work, the more of it I have”. So true, you make your own good luck.

Love that quote, such a motivating one!

Oh cassettes… how I don’t miss them. I HATED when my tape would get tangled up!!! Those were the bad old days, haha.

They remade a version of the puppy surprise. My daughter just got one. I thought it was rather inappropriate since we are teaching our 3yo about pregnancy and where the heck is the daddy puppy lol

I just started listening to music again last weekend. But for the whole of 2015 no music on my runs. Sorry very boring 🙂

Hahah, yes, as I was watching that YouTube video yesterday I thought it was interesting that there was never any mention of a daddy puppy!

  4. December 17, 2015 / 3:00 pm

I randomly burst into tears the other day looking at a reddit post about someone who had to put her dog down and she and her husband took photos of everything they did on the dog’s last day. I just got teary-eyed thinking about it again now!

I think my most played album is Josh Ritter’s new one. A close second would be 1989 – both the original and the Ryan Adams cover versions!

Haha I grew up in the 90s but have never heard of Puppy Surprise. It totally sounds like something I would have wanted though! I’m not a big crier and can’t remember the last time I cried during a movie. It takes a lot to make me cry but if it involves animals I’m more likely to.

True story: Matt LOVES “Style.” He doesn’t like TSwift but that one song… He even puts it on notification on XM so he can go to the channel whenever it plays haha.

I had a puppy surprise as a kid! And a kitten surprise…wow, that’s taking me back!

  7. December 19, 2015 / 1:10 am

I don’t listen to music when I run…so I don’t even have a playlist. Right now in the car, it is Christmas music… 🙂
I had never even heard of puppy surprise–That must have been in between my kids and me.

I tear up at commercials, movies, even reading books.

  8. December 21, 2015 / 7:57 am

oh man, i had the black & white puppy surprise and Abbie had the tan one… i need to show her this! hahah

puppy surprise is…..weird….but coming from the generation that loved Monchichi’s, I guess I can’t judge! Lol!
