Training Update + Giveaway!
Hey there! Today I’m excited to host a giveaway for three awesome smelling body scrubs from Bath and Body Works.
These are honestly some of my favorites. I stopped shopping at Bath & Body Works for a while because their animal testing policy was unclear, but from what I understand they are cruelty free so let’s celebrate with a giveaway!
These bottles all say “not tested on animals” on the back — in addition to just having the prettiest packaging ever.
Now let’s talk about the good stuff: training. This year I am singularly focused on training hard and having one spectacular race. I haven’t decided on which exact race that will be, but it will definitely be a half marathon in November (most likely RnR Last Vegas).
I want to PR and I am intent on doing just that! It’s time to say goodbye to 2:57 when I know I’m capable of so much better.
After talking with my friend Jenny I decided to reach out to her coach for some training advice and an action plan.
I had my best year of running ever when I was working with a coach; I think the accountability and discipline that comes with reporting back to someone is really helpful to me.
Of course training for the half won’t start for a few more months, but I have some work cut out for me when it comes to getting back to the same fitness level I had back in early 2015. And also just the same fitness level I had back in August of last year. It’s hard to believe but it’s been over six months since I’ve even looked seriously at a training plan!
I’ll start officially working with my new coach next Monday, so this weekend I’ll just be running for fun. Then the build begins!
