We Broke the Bed + Can You Believe Kilian Jornet?

I brought one of my BEAMM cat mousepads to my office. It’s been a while since I closed up shop on my soy candle business and I had forgotten how good it feels to create something that you’re proud of and can share with other people.

If you weren’t reading my blog back in 2013/2014 and you want to learn more about my former little candle business you can read a bit about it HERE.

I’ve been thinking about doing a blog or vlog series where I talk about how anyone can start an online shop. Is that something that any of you would be interested in?

If there’s any interest I can do a series where I tell you step-by-step how to open an online shop with less than $100, and then I can do small progress reports telling you how things are going with BEAMM.

LMK in the comments if anyone is interested!

By the way if you placed an order I’m all caught up on shipping and your mousepads are on the way. The flipping adorable cat mugs should be arriving to me on Monday and will be able to ship on Tuesday πŸ™‚

AAAAAAAND for the non cat lovers, I have a few other products that should be arriving soon that I think you will LOVE.

Enough about the shop though! Over the weekend I had to do some shopping of my own. Don’t ask – but a week ago Adam and I broke the bedframe. It’s a long story, and not dirty at all, so I won’t go into the details!

Yesterday we went to the furniture store and picked out a new one. I’m actually pretty happy we have to get rid of our old one because the headboard of our current one is really short and looks hidden when we prop the pillows up.

When the bed is fully made with all the pillows it looks like we don’t even have a headboard!

That’s been annoying me for a while and I’ve wanted a new one since we moved into the new house. Breaking the bed gave me the perfect excuse to pick out a beautiful light grey headboard like all my favorite bloggers and YouTubers have HHAHA!

It gets delivered to the house today so expect to see it in all its glory in tomorrow’s post :). We got it at City Furniture for only $500! I love a good deal!

With all that money we saved on not getting an expensive bedframe, I was able to hit up Ulta. IDK if you’ll believe this or not but it was the first time I shopped for new makeup in 1.5 months proving that it is possible for me to go on hiatus from makeup shopping. Who knew? πŸ™‚

Amidst all the shopping I did follow along with the Hardrock 100 this weekend. I’m not surprised that Kilian Jornet won… of course he won. When doesn’t he win? He’s literally a living legend!

What really threw me off is that he dislocated his shoulder, popped it back in and then went on to win the race!

If you’re not familiar with Kilian or ultrarunning in general, I highly recommend watching Unbreakable, a documentary about the 2010 Western States 100 race. It features Kilian and a few other INCREDIBLE ultrarunners.

I’ve watched the documentary probably a hundred times. It’s impossible not to be inspired by it, and it’s equally impossible to not come away a fan of Kilian’s. The dude is made of pure running talent.

I’m going to go watch it again right now :). Exciting Saturday night haha!Β I hope you’re having a great weekend!

Anyone interested in the business blog/vlog series?
What’s your current favorite lipstick/lipgloss (brand + color)?
Did you keep up with the Hardrock news this weekend too?

Furniture shopping stresses me out πŸ™‚ We got new bedroom furniture a few months ago. I ended up ordering a headboard from overstock and then we got dressers from Macy’s. It felt good to not spend a ton of money. I should have spent the extra makeup shopping as well, lol.

I really like Buxom lip gloss right now. I go back and forth with it because it’s kind of thick/sticky but it lasts longer than other lip glosses.

Ohhh thanks for the lip gloss tip. I’m super into glosses right now but it drives me nuts to remember to reapply every 5 mins πŸ™‚

We did break a bed once… and it is a dirty story. πŸ™‚ (Although in our defense, the bed was really old and it could’ve happened to anyone!) Oh, to be young…

Hahahha okay so I know exactly what you mean! Our old bed, we had inherited from parents and we broke that one too, but that’s also a spicier story. Ah to be young! haha

Ok, so we need the dirty stories of people breaking beds.. I have never broken a bed in a dirty or clean way! and it’s making me feel like I’m not adventurous !

Congratulations on the new adventure! I’m looking forward to ordering a mug, they look so cute!!

Hahaha thanks Ana! The mugs are seriously the most adorable <3.

With the bed Adam and I broke I think it was just that it was yearsssss old since we inherited it and it was just it's time and couldn't take too much... bouncing πŸ˜€

Big purchase shopping is a bit overwhelming but it feels great to get it all done! Athletes that run ultras are amazing. I have zero desire to do it but I am always interested in watching documentaries about them!
