We got into an argument after the gym…

I love three day weekends so much. This should really be the standard number of days off.

Friday afternoon when I got home from work Adam had already been dropped off from the airport which was a great surprise! After a long international flight he didn’t really feel like doing anything, so we just kicked back and watched the Running on the Sun documentary about the Badwater 135 ultramarathon.

Both of these arrived in the mail on Friday!

Adam told me he missed me a lot “because no one in Finland told me any Scott Jurek facts.” I sensed a bit of sarcasm, so I’m going to try to contain myself and keep it to the blog.

My doctor appointment on Friday went really well. All day Thursday my foot was feeling 100% normal, but I wanted to keep the appointment just so I could get a professional opinion on whether I should start running again or not.

The doctor had me do a bunch of different little stretching moves, poked and prodded the foot and then told me I was good to go for an easy run on Saturday. He didn’t mention if an easy run meant an easy plus long run but I assumed that’s what he meant and did 12 miles. I had literally no aches or pains in the foot and all 12 miles passed perfectly. In the end I locked myself out of the apartment, but the run itself went great!

Sunday morning I woke up with just a tiny bit of soreness in my legs, but no aches in my foot. My first thought as I lay in bed was “I could definitely go for a run today!” But I didn’t because it was technically a scheduled rest day, and because I really want to get back into a good weightlifting routine.

I haven’t held a solid upper + lower body routine in over six months, so I had Adam watch me as we quickly ran through form on all the lifts that are part of my routine, and then he set me off to do work.

During my pull-down’s he noticed I was only doing 60lbs and came over to yell at me. I told him that after running 12 miles yesterday I was entitled to be a bit of a baby in the gym, but he wasn’t feeling that excuse.

In the end I put in a hard upper body workout and will be living with DOMS for a couple days!

After the gym we got into an argument over whose celebrity crush is better. He likes Aisha Tyler (host of Who’s Line Is It Anyway?), who I don’t think is funny at all. I guess I kind of understand why he likes her since I’m not funny either, but at least I haven’t tried to make a career out of it.

I like Aaron Rodgers, who clearly wins the celebrity crush argument because he’s been MVP of a Superbowl. End. Of. Story.

Screen shot 2014-05-25 at 7.08.34 PMI mean c’mon, is this even a fair argument? ; ) #12 all day.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Doing anything fun today? BBQ is what it’s all about!

PS: My coach came in 1st place female in yesterday’s Boston Run to Remember 5-Miler! How awesome is that?!

I agree – 3 days as a standard weekend please.

Haha, Adam sounds a very funny guy! Glad he was home as an early surprise.

Hmm, celebrity crush? That is a hard one. Back in the day I would have listed Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, blah, blah, blah etc… I’m going to go with Adam Sandler OR Paul Rudd, for the laughs.

Nope, nothing overly fun today – tried to get my one class of the day to ‘act’ out a poem (tried being the key word here), and then came home and did a strength workout, and now Husband has just cooked us an amazeballs healthy dinner. BBQ sounds the go though! Enjoy!

That’s awesome re: your coach! You are in good hands with your new coach then. 🙂

Arghhh Adam Sandler?!! Noooooo. He’s so un-funny! Although I do want to see his new movie with Drew Barrymore even though I heard it was terrible 😀 I usually like terrible movies so it’s probably right up my alley!

Hmm, not sure what I was thinking?! Can I take back Adam Sandler and change him for the guy that plays Gannicus from Spartacus? Just, well, just because, haha… I’ll keep Paul Rudd though.

Omg sorry Adam but I cannot STAND Aisha Tyler!!! She is obviously very pretty, but I don’t think she is funny OR a good actress. I used to watch The Talk and she was on there and I just don’t like her! By the way Kristina, you are hilarious on your blog so you are prob hilarious “in real life” too!! Paul’s celeb crush… he used to like Megan Fox before she started to look like an alien and he also liked Jessica Alba.

      THANK YOU!! Boooooo Aisha!

Also I think you are the first person who has ever told me I was funny in my entire life! 😀 ;D ;D Made my day!

I’m thinking your celebrity crush definitely wins, hands down. I like tall dark and handsome so my crushes include Jake Gyllenhaal and Theo James. Glad your foot was cleared by the doctor and that you were able to get out for a run. It probably helped that you took it seriously and rested it for a while. Today is a rest day for me so my husband and I are doing chores around the house and then going to a movie with some friends this eve.

+1 for Jake Gyllenhaal! In high school one of my lit teachers played us “October Sky” and Jake gained a fan for life. Those eyes are just gorgeous!

Chores on a rest day? Boo!

I don’t think she is that funny either. She used to host this funny show called, now I’m having a blank but it was very funny trust me on this, and they have had a few hosts over the years and so they were doing a montage one episode and I just didn’t get her funny.

What I also don’t get is why men have to say things like “No one told me the things you do” in a trying to be all lovey dovey way but you somehow know that they don’t exactly like you always talking about the things that interest you the most. Case in point –> my hubby hates hearing me talk about my day but I love to do it because without that, I don’t know what else to talk about 😉

    • May 27, 2014 / 1:23 pm

Yay, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t think she’s funny AT ALL!

Haha I know what you mean about talking about the day. Sometimes I feel like I recite how my day went, and then Adam recites how his day went just so we can get that “chore” over with 😀

12 happy miles- way to go!! I can not confess my celebrity crush out loud lol Glad your honey got home safely to you 🙂 Coach is super speedy, eh?!

    • May 27, 2014 / 1:23 pm

Whaaaat now I MUST know who your celebrity crush is! I am going to email you and make you tell me! #PeerPressure

  7. May 27, 2014 / 8:21 am

Hooray for a long run with no pain and a great gym workout!!!
I’m not sure I have a celebrity crush these days – might have to think about that!!
So cool that you running coach won that race!!!

    • June 4, 2014 / 5:01 pm

lol go away Adam. This is my blog and these are my friends and we don’t like Aleisha Tyler here!
