We Made It Through the Storm Unscathed!

Guess what? The hurricane ending up not affecting us much at all!

I woke up yesterday to weather alerts that said the storm would start at 9am, then it was 3pm, then 5pm and then 8pm before they finally announced that we would likely only receive some moderate rain and wind.

Since Adam and I weren’t sure what to expect most of the day, and we were told not to be on the roads, I spent a lot of time in front of the computer.

I caught up on all of my YouTube favorites and read runner blogs while checking the window every 5 minutes to see if it was windy.

Cecil also checked the window frequently, but mostly just because a cute birdie was hanging around in the courtyard all day.

My mom was a little rebel and went out to lunch with her new-ish boyfriend. I wish Adam and I had ventured out too because being cooped up all day was boring, although I am glad that we didn’t receive any destructive weather.

My Miami Marathon training plan has Friday as a rest day, but since I didn’t run yesterday I think I’ll go out today! I’m looking forward to it!

(Also looking forward to going out couch shopping!)

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE HEADING TO CHICAGO!

Where did you buy your couch from?
What kind of couch do you have? Sleeper? Sectional?
What do you do to stay entertained when cooped up at home?

Glad you didn’t get any really bad weather! It reminds me of when we are supposed to get really bad snow and they tell us not to leave and then it turns our to be nothing. I actually really like that because we get a day off work but don’t have to shovel!

I’m with you! It was nice to have time off work without power outages or any destruction!

Well I am glad you are safe! I was watching the news and it looks like other parts of FL got a lot more storm, right?? I think we got both of our sofas at valu city furniture. So far only one has been peed on. 🙂

      Yes they did 🙁

Hahaha that’s so funny. We went to Macy’s and City Furniture this weekend and found a lot of pretty things at City!

I’m so relieved we ended up not getting the brunt of Matthew. It looks like St. Augustine and Jacksonville were hammered, though, and over a million people lost power! I hope things are set right soon!

The thing about shopping for couches that annoys me is that you never know what it’ll feel like on a Sunday afternoon when you’ve been laying on it for 4 hours. Or how many years it’ll hold up and be comfy. Couch shopping is hard!

It’s so true! We sat in a bunch of couches this weekend, and while there was one in particular that was the softest couch ever Adam pointed out it was only good for napping and not for actually sitting and talking or watching tv on because you just sink so far into it! I didn’t think that far ahead!

Glad you are okay! The news made it look pretty terrible. I am the same way when I’m cooped up – all the youtubes, blogs, tutorials, anything. Hope you get outside today though!

I hope you didn’t end up with too much rain or wind this weekend. I know the carolinas seem to get way worse than we did!

So glad you didn’t have any problems because of the storm.

We have a huge sectional. It isn’t very attractive and it’s too big for our living room – but it’s so comfy I don’t even care. It has a huge ottoman that you can push up and basically make the couch a huge bed. We love it…and so does our basset hound.
