Adam and I had a great weekend getaway in New York :).
On the flight to and from New York I read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from cover to cover. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally pick this book up. There were times where I felt like the story was a little light but then I reminded myself that it was written as a play not a 700 page book. (I WISH it was a 700 page book!)
I think I was nervous to start this book… worried that I wouldn’t like reading about the original characters being all grown up. Worried that the children would be too similar to the original trio, but that wasn’t the case at all. If you haven’t read this yet, what are you waiting for?!
We spent most of the weekend in Brooklyn since we were in town specifically to see NXT Brooklyn II and SummerSlam at the Barclay’s Center! I vlogged part of the weekend but I don’t know if there will be enough footage for a full video. Aside from going to the wrestling shows (which I don’t think a lot of runners are interested in), we didn’t really do a lot besides sleep since the shows run late into the night.
We did walk across the Brooklyn Bridge which was a great experience!
I knew the view from the top would be amazing but it was even better than I expected. You can see the Statue of Liberty from the bridge!
Do you see the statue poking out of the water over there to the left? That’s Lady Liberty!
I think I lost about 20lbs in sweat walking over the bridge in the middle of the afternoon. It was HOT out.
Adam and I walked from our hotel to the Barclay’s Center where the events were held at each day and by the time I got there I was so sweaty and unhappy (until we got back into the a/c).
I don’t mind being super sweaty in my running clothes but I HATE BEING SWEATY IN REGULAR CLOTHES. I honestly cannot possibly explain in words how much I despise being sweaty in non-workout clothes. I think it’s disgusting. Thankfully the Barclay’s Center had their a/c set to like 60 degrees so it was nice and cold inside!
It was so cool to see all of my favorite wrestlers in person – especially Finn! He won his match and become the Universal Champion on Sunday night!

It’s so crazy to think that two years ago Adam and I saw Finn for the first time in front of an audience of about 50 people ,and on Sunday night we saw him perform in front of a sold out crowd at Barclay’s Arena. So cool!
Now that we’re back home I’ve got to get back into the swing of running after work, dealing with mortgage stuff and catching up on the last few episodes of Stranger Things.
Am I the only person who doesn’t really like this show? I’m going to finish the season just to see where it goes, but I’m not really enjoying it.
I could care less about the teenager drama and I don’t feel a connection with any of the characters. I also think the plot is moving so so slowly, but I’m hopeful that it will pick up by the last couple of episodes.
Enjoy your Tuesday, I’ll be back tomorrow with my weekly recap!
Have you finished watching Stranger Things? Did it pick up at the end?
What did you think of the new HP book?
Most fun thing you did last weekend?
