I finally got in a full five days of running after many weeks of only 3-4 days. It sure is easy to run 5+ days a week when you’re on Christmas break, and a lot harder to do when you’re submerged in work during Q1!
I wish I had gotten in 2 lifting days as planned, but I did get in 7 days of jasyoga and some of the yoga workouts feel like strength training (especially the core workouts).

This run was really enjoyable. The weather had cooled down a little bit and my calves loosened up pretty quickly.
2 mile warm up, 6 long hill repeats, 1 mile cool down plus the Jasyoga Run Your Core video.
This workout kicked my butt and I was totally exhausted after. I was in good spirits though as this was the day I took Cecil to the vet for the little cough he developed and learned that he’s okay! I was supposed to do a 2 mile cool down, but I shortened it to 1 mile because I was dead.

Some days my coach puts specific yoga videos into my plan but other days she leaves it up to me to workout whatever areas are stiff. On those days I will always choose the hip and calf videos as those are my two consistent problem areas.
Because my calves have been so bothersome lately I’ve been doing the calf reset video every day. I cannot tell you how good my calves feel immediately after doing this video! If I could I would do it once an hour every single hour of the day!

Because we had plans to head out to Miami on Saturday night I had to get in my run way too early in the afternoon. This run was HOT. I can usually handle 81 degrees at sunrise/sunset but 81 degrees with the sun blasting down is a whole different game. Thank goodness I only had three miles on the schedule!
8 miles alternating easy/hard every 2 miles.
Okay so this one was difficult for me. I have a hard time regulating my pace every two miles so this ended up being more like alternating easy/hard every one mile. I’m going to try and get better at this if I end up doing this style of long run again (which I’m sure I will at some point)!
It was so hot out. I’m honestly over summer. Oh wait, summer hasn’t even began? Eeek.
