Oh, boy. I had fast food today for the first time in months and it did not agree with my stomach at all.
I went to Wendy’s and ordered their grilled chicken sandwich and a baked potato. As I was waiting for the food to be prepared, I glanced over the nutritional chart they have hanging on the wall. My chicken sandwich had 390 calories, 3 grams of fiber, 34 grams of protein, 10 grams of fat and a whopping 1,000 milligrams of sodium!
Are you kidding me? That is crazy! I love how they point out the somewhat decent stats (calories, fiber, protein) like somehow this sandwich is healthy. I suppose it is healthier than the breaded chicken sandwich in comparison.
I’m not even going to pretend to be the world’s healthiest eater or even close to it, but I definitely won’t be eating at Wendy’s again any time soon. I can’t believe I used to eat there multiple times per week during my lunch breaks. Not surprisingly, I used to always feel bad, just like I did today after eating that lovely meal.
With all of this said, I know eating Wendy’s this one time isn’t going to kill me. I would probably have gotten over it quickly, but then it went and messed with my run.
For the past two weeks I have been having the most electrifying, energizing, positive, happy runs and have even been decreasing my pace steadily. Tonight the first mile went just as well as it has been going but 1.5 miles into the run my stomach started churning again and I cut the run short.
That makes me mad.
Eating Wendy’s is what it is, but don’t mess with my run man! Ugh. Definitely won’t be eating fast food again for a very long time.
