What I Buy at Trader Joe’s

Hey there! Today I’ve got a new vlog to share :).

On Sunday I was feeling so happy to be rid of bronchitis that I actually wanted to do a spring cleaning. I started with a deep clean of the fridge!

I took everrrrrything out, threw away stuff that probably should have been thrown away weeks ago, and then we headed out to Trader Joe’s to stock up on new stuff.

I hadn’t been to TJs in forever and forgot how much I love it!

BTW if you’re not already subscribed to my YouTube channel you can subscribe here – it’s free and allows you to get a notification as soon as I upload. It also lets me know that you like the vlogs and want me to keep creating them :).

Where do you do your grocery shopping?
Favorite thing from Trader Joe’s?
-I’ve never tried the cookie butter everyone raves about, am I really missing out?

I do most of my grocery shopping at Whole Foods and Meijer (a midwest chain of grocery stores). I never, ever go to Trader Joe’s because it has the world’s tiniest parking lot and ends up being a complete pain in the ass.

I’m hoping to get some major spring cleaning done soon, especially in the kitchen. I noticed the shelves in the fridge could use a quick cleaning the other day…

Oh that’s awful. I definitely pick places to go based on their parking lot size too. There are so many lunch places around my office that I won’t go to because parking is a nightmare!

I like Whole Foods too but it’s the farthest grocery store from my house so I never go (even though it’s only like 3 miles away haha). I did hear they are opening one I think later this year suuuuuper close to me which I am excited about!

I’m commented before I watch your vlog and will prob comment again! The cookie butter is really good, but you will survive without it! You know me, I shop at Aldi but THEY ARE OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT OWN TRADER JOES! I think that is super cool. 🙂 I went to a TJ once (before I knew they were owned by Aldi peeps) and when I was there I kept thinking “Things are cheaper at Aldi…)… So of course I was surprised to find out they were related. I think Trader Joes is like The Gap and Aldi is like Old Navy. 🙂

Ohhh I had no idea TJs was owned by Aldi! I would definitely try Aldi if we had one close by. I think one may have opened somewhere near my office as I saw a billboard for it, but I don’t think I could shop there. By the time I got home any foods that need to be refrigerated would probably be in bad shape since it usually takes like an hour for me to get home!

That STINKS! But go in sometime and see if you can get some staples or something. I swear it is so cheap and good and WORTH IT. They do have gluten free stuff too.

We don’t have a TJ near us. I’m a Meijer or Kroger shopper. Not sure if you have those in Florida, but actually we spend a lot of time at Sam’s Club too! Not sure why my small family needs to many bulk items, but we do. Every week.

We don’t have either of those down here! We do have a Sam’s Club and Adam and I used to go a lot too, but now we just buy our bulk items from Amazon. I like that the big boxes get delivered right to my door. We don’t buy food items in bulk though, just things like toilet paper and paper towels. I imagine with kids it probably makes sense to buy some foods in bulk!

I’ve never tried the cookie butter either, but I’m sure I would love it. In fact, I probably would love it a little too much and then have to buy it all the time!

Hahhaha exactly, that’s why I’ve been avoiding it!

TJ’s always feels so overrated for me. I never find anything there that’s much better than Publix and it costs so much more!

Are you getting GF oatmeal and granola? I’m having the hardest time finding the individual quick serving packets these days, and I hate buying the big tubs and having to spend a lot of time making a big batch to save for the week. Although I guess that’s what meal planning comes in handy haha.

Yeah, TJs prices are definitely more expensive than Publix I think because things are pre-chopped/cut. Although for me it’s worth it because I get so lazy about chopping fresh things up that I’ll almost always end up making something frozen instead, so this is a good way for me to eat fresh!

I didn’t realize until yesterday morning when I went to make the oatmeal and granola that they aren’t GF which was a total bummer. The normal kind of Oatmeal that I get from TJs is GF so for some stupid reason I assumed this would be as well since it’s also their brand. At least I looked before I made it! Their oatmeal that comes in the bag is GF and instant so you don’t have to make a big batch which is nice!
