What I Do Besides Running: Cat Mom!

When I’m not running I make candles, play fantasy football and fawn over this sleepy guy right here:

Cecil laying on couch

His name is Cecil and he will celebrate his sixth birthday later this month.

Adam and I adopted C when he was 12 weeks old – he was a crazy rambunctious little guy with a ton of attitude:

Cecil as a kitten

He only weighed 2.5lbs when we got him!

Cecil's First Christmas

Cecil is a completely indoor cat so he doesn’t get to hunt anything outdoors, but we recently started downloading cat games on the iPad for him and he LOVES them:

In one of the games he catches fish (I caught him trying to bite them the other night, haha) and in another one he chases a mouse and in his FAVORITE game he chases a laser pointer on the screen.

He’s the best.

He doesn’t care when I come home all sweaty and smelling bad after a long run, he still wants to cuddle, and that’s why I love him more than anything :).

Do you have any pets? What is his/her name?

Have you ever had a cat?Β

(I know Ali @ Hit the Ground Running has a sweet little Love Bird named Archie. Follow her on Instagram to see pics of him – he’s so pretty!)

I have two dogs, both golden retrievers, Buddy & Sammy. They were my babies before I had human babies πŸ™‚

Buddy and Sammy are such handsome boys. I’ve always loved Golden Retrievers. I remember as a little girl I told my mom I was never having kids, but I was definitely going to have a golden retriever πŸ™‚

I arrived on your blog thanks to Ali @ Hit the Ground Running. πŸ™‚ I have a cat, too. You should get Paint for Cats on the iPad. You can choose a color pallet and then a little mouse goes around the screen, and as the kitty paws it ‘splatters’ paint on the screen to make artwork.

Looking forward to reading more of your blog! (and I’m in the area too – West Palm/Ft. Laud. and have to agree… not many 10Ks around here.

I LOVE Paint for Cats and Cecil does too! I have his first painting hanging on the wall in my office at work, haha πŸ™‚

He did this one just last night (I love that you can see his little paw print in it):

Thanks for dropping by – I love hearing from other south Florida runners πŸ™‚
