What’s On My Desk?!

Please excuse any weird formatting issues. I’m typing this up from my phone because my cable and Internet have been down for a while — thanks Comcast!

Yesterday was another cross training day for me. In general March and April will be fairly low mileage months before I start marathon training in May.

Since there isn’t a whole lot of running news to report on my end, I thought I would do something different and give you a peek at my desk.

Though I don’t keep a lot of things on my little desk at home, I realized the things on there really represent me well!

desk

Laptop Background: Naturally the wallpaper on my laptop is of Scott Jurek (ultrarunner). What else would you expect of me? The background on my external monitor is of my candles : )

Garmin 220: My best running friend just waiting to head out the door again!

Wallet & Debit Card: I confess I am an online shopper! I usually have my debit card number memorized so I don’t have to get up and find my card, but I was recently sent a new one and haven’t memorized it yet. It will happen soon!

Harry Potter DVD: Sometimes you just need to watch a good movie on your computer!

Purple Nail Polish: A bad decision I made. I painted my toes purple and I think it makes me look like I have the feet of a witch. I know this makes absolutely no sense but the purple reminds me of Hookus Pokus a lot!

Lilypad Candle: Naturally I burn the best candles ever all the time!

Lots of Pens: I looooove pens and notebooks. As a kid I used to hoard pretty notebooks. I would get my parents to buy me them but I wouldn’t use them because I felt like I needed to wait until I had the perfect words to put down… And use the perfect handwriting. I am very glad computer went mainstream because the delete button is a beautiful thing! Makes life much less stressful.

What’s on your desk/counter/dresser/etc that represents you?

I did the exact same thing with notebooks and pens when I was a kid! Everything was so pretty I did not want to waste it! My desk is the last thing to get organized post-move so it is kind of a mess these days.

I have to admit, I still kind of do it. I’m holding on to one notebook right now that is just too pretty to write any random thing in. I’ve had it for three years now and it’s still untouched!

You dont want to know. We have an office/spare room and it has turned into the storage room. Honestly, right now I cant even see my desk because its covered in board games, keepsakes, crafts, and tons of other stuff. Your nice neat desk makes me want to go and clean it up this weekend lol.

Haha, I’ve definitely been there with the messy desk. Actually my desk at work is … well I won’t be posting a picture of it any time soon : )

Well…I don’t have a desk! I use my husband’s in the home office and use the computer when I want to feel important. What I do in the evening, or if he is working at home–my I-pad on the couch in the living room, with the TV on wrapped up in the softest throw ever…sometimes with candles in the fireplace…that says a lot about me right there!
In the summer I move my office to the back deck patio furniture…

Ahhh that sounds perfect! I curl up on the couch with my iPad a couple nights a week too! πŸ™‚

I don’t have a desk at home. My desk at work has a picture of me and Paul, a pic of my kitties, always my water bottle, cell, and to do list. I also have one of those big desk calendars. I like to see everything that lays ahead of me so I can stress about it, apparently.

I use an online calendar that sends notifications to my phone. Every time I’ve had a desk calendar in the past I’ve failed to write important dates/times on it, and have used it to doodle on during boring phone calls instead πŸ™‚

I’m totally guilty of memorizing my debit card number to shop. I recently got a new one too, and so far it’s helped to keep me out of trouble haha. Harry Potter and candles are always essentials πŸ˜‰ I keep important stuff scattered around my room, but I always keep a notebook/pen by my bed, a candle, lotion, a book, and a couple CDs. I also have a chalkboard so I can see what I need to work on for the week!
