Wiped Out

Hey there! How’s your week going? Mine got off to a little bit of a rocky start. Yesterday morning I hit a little bit of backed up traffic on my way into the office. Not a lot but just enough to make me 5 minutes late for a meeting with my boss.

That’s not really the bad part though, my drive into work takes about 35 to 45 minutes depending on the flow of traffic. Well, when I was about a mile from my office I realized I left my work laptop at home! Without my laptop I can’t do any work. Oh Monday, you never disappoint! πŸ˜€

After work I headed over to Publix to do a little grocery shopping.

Apparently Irma wiped us out! ALL of the non-dairy milks were sold out and all of the eggs were sold out too. I was honestly so surprised that all of the non-dairy milks were out, I didn’t realize there were so many of us out there. I feel like I should start a local meetup where we swap smoothie recipes or something!

By the time I left the grocery store it was almost 8pm and I was feeling exhausted an mentally drained. I thought about what it would be like to be a stay at home mom for Cecil. I don’t think I would hate it.

I like my job but I like my cat more.

Tonight and tomorrow night will be long days too because I have physical therapy from 7-8pm. I’m looking forward to PT though. I like that I get to do a little workout, plus I am excited about the progress my legs have made since I last went.

As of yesterday the swelling in my legs is WAY down. I didn’t keep my feet elevated under my desk and they did really well. I feel like every couple of days I notice progress which is really encouraging. I just wish the sensitivity in my shins would go away. They still hurt when I walk down stairs, I can feel them with every step I take and they are super sensitive to the touch.

Today marks three weeks since I’ve had my surgery! We’re getting there!Β Happy Tuesday!

How was your Monday?
Anything exciting happening this week?

Oh what a way to start Monday! I always have anxiety if I am late for an important meeting. A long time ago… I’m thinking about 10 years, I chose a new running route to try before work. (This was back when I lived in my apartment.) Well, a train came and blocked me from my route back to my apartment. So I had to stand there and wait for the train to pass… it was taking forever because the train was going SO SLOW. I was gonna be late for work… THEN THE TRAIN STOPPED!!! JUST FREAKING STOPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was blocked! I had to run a really long way back to my apartment. My 5 miler turned into an 8 miler and I was a little late. But then my boss was late too so I worried for nothing!

I HATE WHEN I GET STUCK AT THE TRAIN TRACKS WHEN I’M IN A RUSH! It’s so frustrating! I am getting anxiety just thinking about it now sitting on my couch!

I am sure you have felt every bit of three weeks post op…but WOW–to me that went fast πŸ™‚ I hope you have a great PT session!

I feel like it went fast too! It wasn’t until I started looking through my pics that the whole journey really came together for me. Between the new job, the hurricane and surgery I have totally lost track of time …and also my mind! hahaha

3 weeks already? Wow, that went by fast. That would really stink about forgetting your laptop. Good luck at PT – it’s great that things are changing, and improving. I was listening to another podcast the other day and they too mentioned compartment syndrome. Where has it been hiding all of this time, and now I’m hearing a lot about it. Kinda crazy!

It really did go by fast. I feel like just yesterday I was freaking out about having to go under general anesthesia!

I know right? I feel like everyone says it’s really rare but yet I seem to hear about it nonstop now. Like at my PT there is another patient who just had a fasciotomy right around the same time I did!
