I cannot lie, yesterday was a looooooooooong day for me. My office always closes the last week of the year, which means we’re always slammed the week before.
I powered up my team with some Starbucks in the afternoon, but it still felt like a long day. I didn’t leave the office until after 7:30pm which is never great.
Even though I left after rush hour it still took me about an hour to get down to the beach for my run (I change at the office before I leave so I can go straight to the beach).
I had all of these crazy ideas about running five miles. I must have had an adrenaline rush from being so happy to finally be out of the office because I really thought I had the energy to do it! Then reality hit me once I started running and I ended up only doing two miles, ahah. What can I say, it had been a long time since I had lunch and I was hungry!
After only two miles I was super sweaty. It was only 74*F out but…..
There was 88% humidity which is just like … “really Florida???”
I saw this news article pop up in my Facebook feed yesterday. I WISH this was fake news, but unfortunately it’s not. It really has been this hot.
Oh man. Enough weather talk though!
Christmas is right around the corner and I have done absolutely no shopping 🙂 🙂 🙂 . Yeah, it’s not good!
If you’ve been slacking like me, I thought I would share some digital subscriptions that I pay for that I think would also make good gifts.
Google Play Music & YouTube Red
I used to have a paid Spotify account but I made the switch to Google Play Music earlier this year because I missed listening to Taylor Swift haha.
Another benefit of Google Play Music is that you get YouTube Red for free with it. With a YouTube Red subscription you don’t have to watch any ads on any YouTube videos. If you’re like me and watch a lot of YouTube, this is a great feature!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you know my absolute FAVORITE show in the world is The Mindy Project!
When the show moved to Hulu I signed up for a Hulu Plus account and haven’t looked back.
There are two subscription options: limited commercials and no commercials. I have the no commercials plan and love it.
Cost: $7.99/mo for limited commercials and $11.99/mo for no commercials.
A couple of months ago I signed up for Instacart which is a grocery delivery service.
Now every week I just sign onto the Instacart website and look through items available at my local Publix, add them to my cart and they get delivered to my house 2 hours later.
With InstaCart you can also choose to schedule the date/time of your delivery if you don’t want it right away.
I don’t think Instacart is available in every city, but I think there are other companies like it. What a great gift for anyone in your life who hates dealing with crowds at the grocery store!
Cost: $149 per year for the annual subscription. The gift receiver will also have to tip the shopper when s/he places an order. I think of the tip as just being another item I bought in the store :).
Other Digital Gifts
If you’re looking for other digital gifts I think buying event tickets (concerts, plays, sporting events) is always a GREAT idea and you can usually download the tickets. I love giving the gift of an experience that someone will enjoy and remember for a long time.
I also like to sometimes buy an e-Book for someone on Amazon and send it to their Kindle.
Oh and how could I forget race entries! What a great gift for the fellow runner in your life!
Finally, if you’re really in a pinch you could also buy e-gift cards, but that’s kind of boring… although usually appreciated! I mean who doesn’t like to shop for themselves without having to pay for it! haha
Speaking of e-gift cards, today is the LAST DAY to enter my Dicks Sporting Goods giveaway!
Have you finished all of your holiday shopping?
Do you like to use Spotify, Pandora, Google Play or some other music service?
