Work Work Work

I cannot lie, yesterday was a looooooooooong day for me. My office always closes the last week of the year, which means we’re always slammed the week before.

I powered up my team with some Starbucks in the afternoon, but it still felt like a long day. I didn’t leave the office until after 7:30pm which is never great.

Even though I left after rush hour it still took me about an hour to get down to the beach for my run (I change at the office before I leave so I can go straight to the beach).

I had all of these crazy ideas about running five miles. I must have had an adrenaline rush from being so happy to finally be out of the office because I really thought I had the energy to do it! Then reality hit me once I started running and I ended up only doing two miles, ahah. What can I say, it had been a long time since I had lunch and I was hungry!

After only two miles I was super sweaty. It was only 74*F out but…..

There was 88% humidity which is just like … “really Florida???”

I saw this news article pop up in my Facebook feed yesterday. I WISH this was fake news, but unfortunately it’s not. It really has been this hot.

Oh man. Enough weather talk though!

Christmas is right around the corner and I have done absolutely no shopping 🙂 🙂 🙂 . Yeah, it’s not good!

If you’ve been slacking like me, I thought I would share some digital subscriptions that I pay for that I think would also make good gifts.

Google Play Music & YouTube Red

I used to have a paid Spotify account but I made the switch to Google Play Music earlier this year because I missed listening to Taylor Swift haha.

Another benefit of Google Play Music is that you get YouTube Red for free with it. With a YouTube Red subscription you don’t have to watch any ads on any YouTube videos. If you’re like me and watch a lot of YouTube, this is a great feature!

Cost: $9.99/mo.

Hulu Plus

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you know my absolute FAVORITE show in the world is The Mindy Project!

When the show moved to Hulu I signed up for a Hulu Plus account and haven’t looked back.

There are two subscription options: limited commercials and no commercials. I have the no commercials plan and love it.

Cost: $7.99/mo for limited commercials and $11.99/mo for no commercials.

Grocery Delivery

A couple of months ago I signed up for Instacart which is a grocery delivery service.

Now every week I just sign onto the Instacart website and look through items available at my local Publix, add them to my cart and they get delivered to my house 2 hours later.

With InstaCart you can also choose to schedule the date/time of your delivery if you don’t want it right away.

I don’t think Instacart is available in every city, but I think there are other companies like it. What a great gift for anyone in your life who hates dealing with crowds at the grocery store!

Cost: $149 per year for the annual subscription. The gift receiver will also have to tip the shopper when s/he places an order. I think of the tip as just being another item I bought in the store :).

Other Digital Gifts

If you’re looking for other digital gifts I think buying event tickets (concerts, plays, sporting events) is always a GREAT idea and you can usually download the tickets. I love giving the gift of an experience that someone will enjoy and remember for a long time.

I also like to sometimes buy an e-Book for someone on Amazon and send it to their Kindle.

Oh and how could I forget race entries! What a great gift for the fellow runner in your life!

Finally, if you’re really in a pinch you could also buy e-gift cards, but that’s kind of boring… although usually appreciated! I mean who doesn’t like to shop for themselves without having to pay for it! haha

Speaking of e-gift cards, today is the LAST DAY to enter my Dicks Sporting Goods giveaway!

Have you finished all of your holiday shopping?
Do you like to use Spotify, Pandora, Google Play or some other music service?

It really isn’t fair to either of us. Next winter let’s rent a house together somewhere with moderate temps! haha

I am so sorry you’re swamped BUT excited that you get all next weekend off!? That is awesome! Do you have any fun plans? Let me guess, there will be painting involved?

I am very excited AND I hope there is not a single drop of paint involved! We only have one bathroom left to paint, but it’s the bathroom that gets used the least, so it will be the last project that gets worked on. I honestly need a break from painting. I hate it.

My dad is coming down to visit for a few days, I need to get my highlights touched up/get a haircut and Adam and I also have a WWE show to go to one night. The rest of the time will be used decorating the house!

It was hot and humid when I braved a run on Tuesday, and then today it was cool and cloudy ALL day! So unfair.

I need to create a list of gifts I want to give Matt’s parents but nothing sounds interesting. I just don’t want anything lately!

Seriously so unfair!! Last night it was 69 here so it must have been even cooler for you. I have no idea how to handle the cooler weather. I opened my sunroof to let the air in my car, but then my windows fogged up. I turned the defoggers but then I also had to turn my windshield wipers on bc of all the condensation. Is that normal? I looked around and no other cars had their windshield wipers on!

I’d say I’m 99% finished with my christmas shopping. I’d really like to pick up a little something extra for my sister in law since she has been having a rough semester, but I’m not sure I can face going to the mall. I’d like to hit up LUSH, but might settle for Ulta since it is a bit more convenient for me. Plus I just remembered I have a $5 off of $15 coupon at home (please don’t be expired! lol). Well I guess that settles it. Thanks for your help Kristina!

    Enjoy your week off!

Ohhhh I would totally go to LUSH with you, but Ulta sounds good too especially with a coupon!

How lucky that you get a whole week off from work!! and those temps!! Can we say weather envy!

those are excellent ideas for Christmas presents! I would always rather have an ecard to starbucks, than a shirt I will never wear!

    Happy Holidays!

Nooooooo i am the one who has weather envy! Your temps sound so wintery! I bet it will be cold on Christmas where you are, and here it will be hot and steamy!!

At least business is good 🙂
but yes, that is a very long day! I wouldn’t be able to run either.
I finally purchased Book of Mormon tickets so there is Christmas = done. Kenny and I have seen it before but he loved it so we’ll do it again.
I would love YouTube w/o adds!

I’m so jealous, I am dying to see Book of Mormon!!! Hmmm okay, let me just float this idea: ditch Kenny for the night and take me with you instead :)!

I’m done shopping, but wrapping remains! I like your line of thought of thinking of the tip as another bought item.
