You Know What? (+ Snapchat)

You know what running the day after squatting feels like? Hell.

I usually schedule my leg day better but I had to do it on Tuesday night this week and my run yesterday felt like TORTURE. It reminded me of why I stopped squatting heavy when I started training for my first half marathon way back when. It’s okay though, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! I finished the run, stretched and then felt like a badass so it’s all good :).

The weather at the beach last night was just perfect: 75*F with a very slight breeze. For me, that’s absolute ideal running conditions for night time. (If the sun had been out that would be a different story!)

If we’re friends on Instagram (@kristinarunning) then you probably saw that a couple of my coworkers got to go play in the Everglades yesterday for a photo shoot.

^ That’s our art director hanging completely off of an airboat with his hand (and expensive camera) one foot away from a wild gator. He is CRAZY! Apparently he later got *into* the water so he could get better shots of the gator!

INSANITY. I can’t wait to see the pics though!

In other news: I love this cat.

The best son I could ever ask for. And I don’t have to pay for him to go to college! 😉

BTW, I just started using Snapchat for research purposes for work. Yesterday I created my first Snapchat Story (aka here’s my day in 25 seconds):

If you’re on Snapchat you can add me @kristinarunning and let me know in the comments so I can add you back too!

Have you ever been on an airboat ride? I went once a long time ago. I can’t really remember anything from it except that it was noisy!
Do you like using Snapchat?

So hanging off an airboat in front of a gator is not my cup of tea! I am sure though all the shots are amazing! I love snapchat…its a fun way to give a quick hello or funny pic of something (or yourself) to friends!

It’s not my cup of tea either, that’s FOR SURE! 😀

I’m trying to get into Snapchat. Not many of my friends use it so I’m not sure I’m getting the full experience! haha

I never used Snapchat, isn’t that for the youngings??? JK. 🙂 Do I have to get on insta before snapchat, or can I jump right into snap chat? 🙂

Great running weather for you! I realllllly wanted to run this morning. It was 67. I know, can you believe it!!!??? But alas it was a lifting day, and I have already accumulated quite a lot of miles this week.

Hahaha yes it is for the youngins. I had to have my intern explain the feature set to me and then it still took me about two hours just to figure out where my profile was LOL!

67*F sounds lovely! Today it was 80 here but a cold front is supposed to be coming through tonight!

Leg day followed by running is definitely BA status. YIKES, your art director is crazy. Gators just look mean and scary, no way would i come close to them.

I saw some of the close up shots today and the gator’s teeth are actually really dull – I thought they would be sharp like a shark. However, the jaw looks SUPER POWERFUL and terrifying. If that thing clamped down on your limbs it would be all over!

Cecil just looks so happy to be with you! That’s such a wonderful picture. I have been on an airboat, but they are so noisy! I feel like they scare all of the wildlife away and you just end up seeing a few disgruntled gators who are too tired to move. I go kayaking when I’m down in Florida, and that’s a way better way to see stuff.

Thank you – I love the picture too! 😀

I completely agree, kayaking is a much better way of seeing things and going at a leisurely pace without disturbing everyone and everything around!

Ugh squats… yep, I can always feel those! So cool about the photo shoot with the gator! We went to Gatorland when we were on a Florida trip a while ago and we all loved seeing them! Have you ever been to Gatorland?

I’ve never been to Gatorland – I’ve actually never been out to the everglades AT ALL except for driving past it on the highway. I want to go out to see the panther refuge at some point!

Snapchat is the first app that made me realize I’m actually getting old. I just don’t GET it. I find it hard to use and confusing and pointless haha! I have an account JUST so I can keep up with my sister; she’s the only person I follow!! I feel so old lol.

An air-boat ride sounds fun! I have never been, but gators would scare me to death.
Cecil always reminds me of Otto. That sweet little picture is making me miss Otto, he was my snuggler, always by my side.

I did snapchat for a while, then I got off of it… It wasn’t that I didn’t like it. I just got too addicted.

  9. February 5, 2016 / 5:37 pm

Um, seriously I think your art director must be on drugs. There is no amount of money you could pay me to stick my arm out in front of a gator.

I didn’t know you could create stories with Snapchat. I must have only used it during the early days. I don’t think I have an account anymore…

I think I’m dumb because I can’t figure out how to use snap chat. My sister makes fun of me all the time for it! I’m going to try to add you.
